@just10minutes while in theory it should be possible (Redash just sends the SQL commands to the database), it's not the use case we're best serving. Redash is about querying and sharing your data.
@ChiragKParmar it should be rather quick. sometimes the migration stage might take longer, depends on the amount of data you have. but in your case it just looks stuck.
@aviam can you check the log (/opt/redash/logs/api_error.log) when opening the data sources page?

@arikfr I stopped it after about 20 minutes. I will try again sometime later tomorrow.

@arikfr any ideas about the refresh issue? Seen this on any 0.9.2 installs before?

@lloydw just to make sure, by "auto refresh" you mean a query with a refresh schedule?

@aviam I did answer: I asked you to check the log (/opt/redash/logs/api_error.log) when opening the data sources page.

@arikfr nope, if you're not aware of any issues, I guess I'll look deeper
I'm assuming that the graph should just be pulling the same result set over and over? And not trying a newer version due to the refresh schedule?

The graph doesn't refresh "by itself" while the page is open. It will only load a new result when you open it again (either page refresh or due to navigation).

hmm ok I'll try get the exact repro
the dashboards do have an auto refresh button though?

they do (and that's what I thought you were having issue at first). the way it works: if a query has a refresh schedule, it will try to refresh its data after 2x(refresh rate) or every 120 seconds (the larger). So if you set your query to refresh every 15 minutes, it will try to refresh every 30 minutes.

wow why not every 15?

I think the idea was to make sure that there is already fresh data, but actually I think we should make it the other way around -- if it set to refresh every 15 minutes, check every 7.5 minutes.

right
ok, well I can't access the server that has the issue at the moment, so I will get back to you in a couple days, might try get more debug info out of it
