@sreynen one of our versions had this table missing and in a newer one we added the migration to add it.
@jeffwidman currently there is no UI for this, but you can browse to /admin/dashboard and edit it from there (or change directly in the DB).

Good morning! Does redash have atm a support to export all config, i.e. all queries + visualisations etc, so that they could be imported to another instance? Say between hosted and your own test environment.
If not, I'd like to post that as a feature request :)
Would be easier to take backup of the configuration/queries to github as well.

@tiltti there is no automatic tool, but it should be easy to write using the API (everything you can do with the UI you can do with the API). And I think recently someone opened an issue for this already :)
@tiltti also I have a script that exports all queries to files, if that's of interest.

@arikfr that script is most certainly of interest, especially if I can run it against the hosted environment, too?
Perhaps add it to github to some utilities folder?

But definitely some sort of backup/restore tool would be nice for transferring/migrating queries/dashboards between environments. I haven't really given it much thought yet, so that's why I asked if some tools already exist.

@tiltti here you go: https://gist.github.com/arikfr/598590356c4da18be976 it's very simple and was meant for someone who wanted to sync his queries with a git repo.

@tiltti writing a full import/export tool shouldn't take much effort. a sync tool for ongoing moving of objects is a bit trickier because you need to keep a map of object identities.

Another question, and pardon me if I've not completely up to speed with the documentation on this one either, but is there some planned interaction with the queries? Meaning you could select a date/date range which would be inserted into the query?
We have lots of these use cases when people need to add/modify some filters in the query instead of having static dashboards for everything. I know this is more towards Qlikview kind of approach, but this is why I'm setting this up in the first place - because Qv sucks ;)

@tiltti that's actually possible. as you probably noticed documentation is a bit lacking :-( anyway, see here an example of how parameters are used:
demo.redash.io/queries/146/source?p_action=create (this is a query, but they are supported in dashboards as well).
(you can login to the demo instance with any google account)
make sure to copy manually the link, because it's broken.
Currently there is no UI for parameters, so the usability is a bit limited. But for some use cases you can create an "index query" that links into a parameterized query/dashboard: http://demo.redash.io/queries/1483
UI for parameters is on the roadmap though.

when using a google sheets data source, should i expect to see a list of tables?
i'm not seeing a list of tables, and every attempt at a query returns an "invalid_grant" error

GM, question re: deploying to Heroku and/or Docker - is there any updated documentation? I did a clone of the repo and did docker-compuse up and there were a bunch of errors. instead of digging deeper , I wanted to see if someone has tips on either

If it doesn't work for you, leave a comment on the PR with suggested improvements, be good to get solid instructions for docker into the docs

@sreynen the spreadsheets datsdource doesn't show schema . Did you share the spreadsheet with the service account you created?
Scott Reynen
@sreynen
Apr 12 2016 19:27
i did
The query format is “DOC_UUID|SHEET_NUM” (for example “kjsdfhkjh4rsEFSDFEWR232jkddsfh|0”)
i'm not entirely clear what that means. my spreadsheet URL is https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1sISp2OL41LrDkeSJs6jCTpmIKttCdD-uMXGg2y2PRCY/edit#gid=0 so i've tried 1sISp2OL41LrDkeSJs6jCTpmIKttCdD-uMXGg2y2PRCY|0 and SELECT * FROM 1sISp2OL41LrDkeSJs6jCTpmIKttCdD-uMXGg2y2PRCY|0 as queries. both return the same error

It's the first one.
I will try to check what this error means tomorrow when I'm near a keyboard.

does that mean i won't be able to do any SQL logic on a google sheet? if so, this probably isn't relevant for me, though i'm happy to help track down improvements for others

No, currently it brings the data as is. Being able to run queries on spreadsheet data is on the road map.

@arikfr I am trying to add members to a group, however, after I add a member and go to Data source tab to add data source and back to members, somehow it doesn’t show any members in the list.
any pointers would be helpful
Also, I have ony one copy of each query, but when I am tring to set alert I am seeing duplicates for each query in the search box.

Re duplicates I have an idea what it might be. Can you open a GitHub issue?

How do I organize dashboards into groups/categories?
on the demo dashboard, at the top of the list of dashboards, there's several groupings
I checked /admin/ and not seeing a DB column or table for the mapping
nor a setting in the UI
