@galdoron Thanks for this tip! I'd love to add this to the documentation but I didn't find a great place to put it on http://docs.redash.io/en/latest. Any thoughts?

@AntoineAugusti let's add a new page under "Usage"/
@AntoineAugusti create a new page here: https://github.com/getredash/redash/tree/master/docs/usage and it will be added to the TOC.
Here's an overview of most Redash features: https://gist.github.com/arikfr/9d061bedb55ccd137f30

Cool, thanks for the link. I'll try to put that in a page in the upcoming days
Another thing, I've been thinking about adding an ENV variable to specify a different path for the logo in the navbar. Is it something that you'd like to see? What would be a nice way to inject it in app_header.html?

there are two ways to do this:

  1. see how we inject the name variable.
  2. use a context processor

I recommend option 2.

Okay. I'm completely new to Flask, where should context processor be put?

Because it's only one context processor, I would add it to redash/handlers/__init__.py. Instead of app.context_processor decorator use routes.app_context_processor decorator (routes is a blueprint we register all the handlers on).

quick question @jeffwidman @arikfr any reason why the bash setup scripts for Docker cannot be rolled into docker commands - would reduce the dependencies for the docker client - and put them on the docker host - which is proper containerization.. e.g. you shouldn't need bash to dockerize apps
@jeffwidman thanks for the pull request on the setup docs re: docker. It helped tremendously.

@xingh I was about to reply to your comment that the Powershell version isn't needed, as we should move this into the container... :) So yeah, completely agree.

hi Arik, any good way to remove lots of queries and alerts ?
Arik Fraimovich
@arikfr
Apr 13 2016 16:36
@ChiragKParmar :+1:
@snirad because there is no API to delete alerts, your best option is SQL.

delete from alerts where id = '%'?
Arik Fraimovich
@arikfr
Apr 13 2016 17:01
@vorakumar no.
@snirad depends on what you want to do, but generally yes. you might need to delete alert_subscriptions first (or make the delete cascading).

do you have some example query ffor deleting alerts and queires?
Arik Fraimovich
@arikfr

@snirad not really + it depends on what you want to delete (what criteria).

I considered this as well, I know my users would appreciate it. But I think from a branding perspective, it'd still be nice to have the redash logo somewhere, more as a thank you for open-sourcing this, plus getting the word out than anything else

@jeffwidman agreed. if people want to patch it for their own branding, they can do that. e.g. we use solr for many projects as we do enterprise search .. and I've never had to change the SolR logo.. there is a different front end for the user.. .. redash is an admin tool for sure, and if someone is using it, more than likely they willbe getting reports..
