@arikfr hi, i am trying to create a temporary table on a query to make it clearer for others. but i am having error "no data was returned" on re:dash 0.9.2+b1536 which is my environment and also having another error "syntax error" on the demo env (0.10.0+b1752). any help? thanks in advance.

@ikazoy you have two separate issues:
  1. First one: "no data returned" is returned as an error, but it just a message saying the query didn't return any data. Usually happens with inserts and such.
  2. In the second one I think you indeed have a syntax error. Shouldn't there be "as" before "(select ...)"?

@arikfr thank you for your prompt response. actually, for the second error, it is fixed with "as" though the sql i tried was working on my local mysql env. anyway it is ok now. but for the first one, i have still the same error "no data was returned".

I'm running a similar query:

create temporary table t as (select * from alerts);

select * from t order by id limit 1

And I'm getting results.

From the error message it seems that it only executes the "create temp..." and not the select afterwards.

here's a bit different example, but same principle: http://demo.redash.io/queries/1541/source
btw, what database is it? maybe it's ignoring multiple queries?
