Any ETA on 0.10 release?
tenatively planning to setup a production redash instance later this week and wondering if i should delay a few days, or go ahead if it's several weeks out

I'm aiming to Sunday. But you can install the RC already. It's stable enough and upgrading from it to latest will be smooth.

Is there any db migration between the current .9 release and .10?
considering just migrating the playground I setup rather than starting fresh

Yes, creating the api keys table and adding a few permissions.

thx, sounds like simplest to just start fresh then

Actually I think upgrade should be simple.
And if you planning to start fresh, why not give upgrade a shot first?

I wasn't clear hwo to run the fabric upgrade script against the docker container... never used fabric and still very green with docker
i am always up for trying new things though

The fabric script isn't designed to work with a docker setup.
Basically the process is: update the container to the image you want, but you need to figure out which migrations to run yourself :-( it's not hard but manual. I can walk you through but only tomorrow.

no worries. It's still niggling in the back of my brain to look into how much work it'd be to just swap to SQLAlchemy where you get Alembic for free
I don't know how much effort it'd be to put together a PR for that

That's a good question. It can be a simple effort of just rewriting existing models code (and I tried to have most custom queries as model methods), but might become hairy. Probably 2 days at least.

The other alternatives are:

  1. Use https://github.com/cam-stitt/arnold or https://github.com/klen/peewee_migrate.
  2. Write our own migration manager...

Just became a subscriber, kudos again for the great app :)
Will you be updating the hosted version also to 0.10?

@tiltti thanks. That's very much appreciated :-)
Sure, it will be updated on Sunday or monfsy
*Monday
Usually the hosted version is in sync with latest (RC) open source release. But this time the change was too big and required some additional testing.

I'm having trouble upgrading. On my local machine I can ssh into my redash instance with $ ssh redash. I've downloaded the fabfile but when I run $ fab -H{redash} -u{ubuntu} deploy_latest_release I get Fatal error: Name lookup failed for {redash} Underlying exception: nodename nor servname provided, or not known
I've also tried fab -H redash -u ubuntu deploy_latest_release (on the assumption the curly braces aren't literal) but get similar Fatal error: Name lookup failed for redash

I guess you're using a SSH config file right?

okay got it to work with fab -H ec2...amazon.com -u ubuntu -i ~/.ssh/some.pem deploy_latest_release
but yeah I had defined redash in my ssh config, so still not totally sure why that wouldn't play nicely

I guess fabric doesn't use this file

I get http://localhost:9001 refused connection when trying to restart with sudo supervisorctl restart redash_server

Rebooting the machine fixed things.
