@scott-hand the goal is to create a ui where they can enter the customer id
@scott-hand never thought of what you described (setting the value when adding to the dashboard). Will it be needed if there is proper ui for the user to enter the id he wants

hey all. trying to set up redash, which looks fabulous. I was wondering a few things: 1) is redis required (looks like that from the docker compose template), 2) is there a difference between the db redash uses for itself and the one it queries? Can I make them separate?

@pudo yes, Redis required. yes, you can (and probably should) make them separate.

alright thanks!
so the thing specified by REDASH_DATABASE_URL is the "home db" and then I get to add new DBs in the UI?

@arikfr I've started using parameters but after clicking on a link (HTML generated with the parameter) i'm getting results from the query cache and it seems like it's not running the query again.
Is there to force a query with parameter to rerun?

@ginfotechs you need to convert this into a format Redash understands. You can either build a dedicated data source for this or have some web service that will read in Google's reply and convert it ot Redash's format and then you can use the URL data source.

Hello, I'm trying to read in data from ElasticSearch and I'm getting this error: Error running query: 'unicode' object has no attribute 'get'

I have a similar query that returns the data I'm looking for, and when I run the query in kibana it works as expected. What other data can I give you to help me troubleshoot this?

I've got the celery_errors log... guessing I've got a mapping issue error?
