@mdwongca you have to enable auto refresh on the dashboard (right-upper corner, click on the toggle button refresh) and also you should configure your queries to refresh ( look in the query details, above the "Table" and "Visualization" tab. You can also see in the queries screen that the last column is "UPDATE SCHEDULE". If it's set to "Never" the query won't refresh )

@mdwongca @Turkish is right. This button on the dashboard page is a bit confusing, and I wonder if we should change how it works.

@arikfr Hi, Arik. I am trying to put a time value in the 'counter' visualisation. Does it accept only whole numbers?
Thanks

@arikfr thanks! I might try to make use of the api refresh. Do you have some docs/instructions that I can point one of my devs to, in terms of calling the api to do a manual refresh?

@mdwongca it's a POST call to /api/queries/<query id>/refresh.
@mdwongca each query has its own API key you can use or some user's API key.

Hi all. @arikfr I am trying re:dash. The project in which I would like to use it is small and personal. I even do not have a database. I was thinking to add the DB in the same machine where I run re:dash. Do you think it is stupid to create a new DB in the Postgres instance that also re:dash uses? I'm thinking about future updates for example.

@mvolpato as long as you take backups, it's ok.
@mvolpato what kind of data do you think of storing there?

@arikfr personal expenses. Then I will use the dashboard to see how much I spend and where

I've setup a user who only has read only access to the data sources ... queries have parameters and I pass the query parameter from the dashboard to the queries ... but I don't seem to be getting any results back ... although if I log in with my admin user, I see results ... passing parameters requires full access? or something else i'm missing? thanks ...

@mdwongca because of the way parameters work right now (which allows sql injections), parameters are only available to users with full access.
