Hi @arikfr @fpieront it looks like the size of the AWS instance was the problem. I bumped from a t2.micro to a t2.small (also tried t2.medium) and it solved the problem. t2.medium works nicely but is double the price :worried:
I would not advise using a t2.micro as the user might get the impression that redash is not working... which is bad marketing

@norbertbede I will monitor mine and see how t2.small works, but yes t2.medium definitely is ideal

so t2.small also gave me problems. Will confirm if t2.medium works well?

Hi All. What is the best way to debug python code in the python query runner?

in our case yes - probably depends on row numbers - we are using some 10 000 max 500 000 records. from postgres server.

on t2.medium I've not had any problems with the last 1.5 hours or so, at the moment the best thus far

@HenroRitchie you can call enable_print_log() in your Python query to see the stdout output. You need to call it before calling the print statements.
@HenroRitchie authentication: no, but I assume you forked it anyway, so you can add it.
@HenroRitchie instance size: I'll update the recommendation to t2.small and add some warning about possible issues. Eventually it depends on the kind of queries you run.
In the long term we will change it to be more memory efficient with large datasets

@arikfr The print function will help. I will add the authentication. I've managed to construct a url.py to obtain the cloudant, that you might add later to the standard distribution

@HenroRitchie you're welcome to make a pull request with it when done.
