hey @arikfr , I installed the requirements and the datasources are still not getting registered. I did restart supervisor as well. What am I missing?

You can try running the following:

    import apiclient.errors
    from apiclient.discovery import build
    from apiclient.errors import HttpError
    from oauth2client.service_account import ServiceAccountCredentials
    from oauth2client.contrib import gce

From a Python console on the server and checking what fails.

@arikfr There was an error with the api client for some reason ImportError: No module named uritemplate.
I was able to fix the import problem with sudo pip install --upgrade google-api-python-client. The imports work just fine now but normal BigQuery datasource is still not registered. I restarted supervisor too. Any more leads?

@arikfr when will this be available in the open source version? https://redash.io/help/queries/using-datasets-as-data-sources.html
waiting for it since so many months... :(

@rahul-pande strange, if the imports work, then enabled will be True and it should be in the list. Can you make sure everything restarted properly?

@DonAlbazaz_twitter I wish I could give an ETA, but there isn't one yet. It might be soon, but I don't want to build expectations.

@arikfr I'm positive, because I even rebooted the instance after trying sudo service supervisor restart

hmm.. try running sudo -u redash bin/run ./manage.py shell from /opt/redash/current and then from redash.query_runner import big_query. what's the value of big_query.enabled?

@rahul-pande

False
But the imports work fine, I checked it in the shell as well

ok, can you try the imports again from this shell ?
from redash import __version__ -> what's the value of version?
__version__?

weird. you can see in the code - the only way enabled will be false is if one of the imports fails

hi! a silly, but hopefully common question: how do I reset a forgotten password?
"Forgot password" doesn't work for some reason (I installed sendmail on the Ubuntu machine, but I'm still getting some error and mail is not sent)
I have ssh access, so how can I reset the password or create a new user through command-line? Maybe directly in redis-cli?

if you're admin, go to settings>user> click on you user> click on send password reset. A link will be shown to you there so that you can reset password even if you haven't setup mail

settings>user>... that would be within redash? I'm the admin and the only user and can't log in :)
I found this in previous messages: "bin/run ./manage.py users password..."
but now I get "peewee.OperationalError: FATAL: role "ubuntu" does not exist"
ubuntu is my linux user

@arikfr thanks a lot "REDASH_PASSWORD_LOGIN_ENABLED"...Can I also allow specific emails of that domain via oauth instead of having them all?
Arik Fraimovich
@arikfr
Aug 09 2017 17:53
@AlexAslan don't enable the domain support, and manually create the users.
@galgoogle maybe the empty one was cached.

maybe this is not the place to ask but: is there any "how-to" set up a redash instance with a custom forked repo?
