Only two of the four devices done, but there's the flavor.

Checking my flows against the existing flows chart. The chart has the route through media-new, which I don't have. media-new leads to the attachment editor, which I have as accessible through edit more details in the grid view attachment details modal. It's also accessible through the media lib list view, which I wished used the attachment details modal.

I'll need to miss the meeting again due to client conflict. I'll be back in action the following week.
So, did we move the meeting to Thursday this week?
I’m fine with it and don’t mind!
@ryanboren I had a quick look at your mobile views. Indeed some stuff doesn’t render well at all. Tho, I was wondering if the focus on mobile use shouldn’t be on the accesibilty via the dedicated app, rather than the browser usability. I agree that responsiveness for mobile browsers is important, but first of all, regular users would use the app, right?

@kLOsk
and yes, the editing with sfari mobile on iphone5 in portrait doesnt work at all
same goes for landscape mode...
Ryan Boren
@ryanboren
The apps are not good, and WordPress should be a champion for the mobile web.

I've not heard back from people about the meeting tomorrow so I'm going to assume that that we're not going ahead with it. Next week instead
PabloPerea
@PabloPerea
Next week then. Tomorrow's meeting would overlap a matter of work that I haven't been able to change.

@sonjanyc
Sounds good to me, talk to you all next week!

@kLOsk
@ryanboren I agree that the apps are not good, but what’s the app teams take on that? Don’t get me wrong, but from big guys like facebook and google it is mostly that they mimic the apps interface in their mobile version, rather than trying to squeeze the desktop interface into the mobile browser size. Therefore I believe ultimately the WP App needs to mimic the mobile interface, which means the app team should be considered in all responsive topics?
Daniel Klose
@kLOsk
@sonjanyc I like your wireframes. Especially this multiselect to create a gallery. I had the same thing in mind, as currently there are unnecessary extra steps involved, where it could just be done from the main media gallery!
Ryan Boren
@ryanboren
@kLOsk I talked to some of the apps team today. Alas, I didn't come away with anything definite. There is still uncertainty. From what I've read and heard so far, the apps will continue as they are for some time, focusing on fixing bugs and bringing feature parity. The apps will, for the foreseeable now, use the UI conventions common to their respective platforms (hamburger on Android, bottom button bar on iOS). I'll encourage some information sharing on make/mobile.
Daniel Klose
@kLOsk
@ryanboren thanks. I understand and have to agree now that we should deliver a top notch mobile experience then. It’s a bit of a shame to be honest, that Automattic is not jumping on the app train and taking the lead here… Wouldn’t be bad for wp.com / VIP neither...

@kLOsk
@smckeown how about hipchat as an alternative to gitter, if we still have to switch: https://www.hipchat.com/
Thanks for all the research @ryanboren, looks like a mess, but great to start having a sense of the scope. I've updated my wireframes with some notes and a slightly more detailed walk through of editing some images. I also like what @sonjanyc did with the contextual actions - seems like a winner. The accordion on the right in my set is based on similar ideas.
Are we meeting on Thursday? Or Friday?
teamAris
@teamAris
Is the meeting today?
Daniel Klose
@kLOsk
mhm I guess not...
Siobhan McKeown
@smckeown
Friday as usual

I've added some preliminary hand drawn wireframes of the mobile process to my wire frames folder. Inspired by image editing on Android and the current process in WordPress.
Siobhan McKeown
@smckeown
Looks like a good start. The way the menu overlaps the image in the editing window is awful
Today's agenda:
Brief catch-up
Review of mobile experience
Tickets to open on trac
Creating the feature-plugin on Github
Thinking about a modal-free workflow (image editing in the editor)
WCSF
ugh
Gitter changed that from 6. to 1. :(
@kLOsk hipchat isn't an option right now. We're looking into other options. Let's stick to Gitter until we have something definitive from the project
