is git-lfs working ok for you guys ? There is not much on it in the doc
Martial Garchery
@mlgarchery
I chose gitbucket over gitlab because I can run it on windows, and git lfs is also a feature I was looking for
ziggystar
@ziggystar
Is it possible to setup GitBucket in Intellij IDEs, so I can browse the repositories? I tried registering it as a github account (or token), but it didn't work.
Xian Boullosa
@Sherpard
@mlgarchery it works indeed, you seem to have found how it works. anyway, AFAIK ssh lfs support is not available yet
@ziggystar gitbucket api is github compatible, but keep in mind that it is not complete yet, so It's posible that some stuff wont work
probably Intellij is using something that gitbucket doesn't know how to handle yet
@mlgarchery btw, using docker you can run / manage an instance of whatever you need, even if you want to run a gitlab instance. anyway, I find gitbucket way easier to set-up and use at a low/mid scale organization
Martial Garchery
@mlgarchery
yeah but the gitlabs doc says that there is known (severe) issues for Gitlab container on Docker Windows, and until I get/rent another linux machine, my automation/build server os is Windows (because I need to have Unity3D running on it, and the linux version is not stable enough)
Now I'm trying to get the web hooks working, and you guys just commented on that, yay ! :)

If you need asistence, we may be able to give you a hand :)

@mlgarchery
I have a quick question, do you know where are stored lfs tracked files on the server ?
SIkebe
@SIkebe
GITBUCKET_HOME/repositories/<user>/<repository>/lfs
Martial Garchery
@mlgarchery
thx :)

Hi, I opened a PR: #2398 because I wanted to get the assignment of the issues api on Gitbucket.
However, there is no sign that this PR will be merged or rejected.

Do I need other work?

Xian Boullosa
@Sherpard
the only thing I see that's missing is to squash the commit history, other than that. is up to gitbucket team
Naoki Takezoe
@takezoe
@aoisupersix I'm sorry! I hadn't noticed your pull request. I will review and merge it. Thanks for your contribution!

Hello! I'm trying to enable SSH access for my gitbucket instance, and have a coupe of questions about it. Is it (a) possible for it to use the existing system sshd, and (b) does it expect the values in any certain format? I've tried both localhost/22 (the system sshd) and localhost/2222 (nothing previously on that port) but both crash the program
Yan
@yaroot
@ntchambers a) no, it uses an embedded sshd in java. b) can you post some logs?
Nicholas Chambers
@ntchambers
Yeah sure
Jason B. Alonso
@jbalonso
Relatedly: I use docker with macvlan (and docker-compose) for my deployment, which means I get to dedicate an IP address to my gitbucket instance, which means I was able to assign port 22 without conflict. This required a patch and TCP forwarding (port 22->2222) and http forwarding with nginx. I can post details if people are interested in the setup.
(I think I required this in order to use gitbucket with hub)
Nicholas Chambers
@ntchambers
Hm, well of course when I try to start it again it works. I'll keep messing around with it and if I break it again I'll post logs
Nicholas Chambers
@ntchambers
Well, SSH works now for whatever reason ¯_(ツ)_/¯ Unrelated question - is it possible to update a Group's email? Currently the one I created is set to Wordmin@devnull but I can't find any way to change it
Xian Boullosa
@Sherpard
The only way I know to edit a group E-mail is directly trough persistence (Database edition) and I'm not even sure if that works
Nicholas Chambers
@ntchambers
oh well, thanks anyways for responding
i just manually changed it in the database. its for personal usage anyways, so if i break it its not the end of the world

Hello guys
I have a question, have created a fit repository in my server. Can I use already existed repository path for Gitbucket
*git
Yan
@yaroot
@krishna444 well gitbucket manages other things like ownership, importing existing repos isn't that troublesome, there are examples with scripts in wiki

Happy holidays! Does the plugin system allow you to do things like extend this menu?
image.png
(I'd like that to have a "New Snippet" option as well)
Nicholas Chambers
@ntchambers
Also, is it expected that the gist plugin is storing content with \r\n line endings? I've got a file with plain \n line endings, but as soon as I paste into a gist, and then curl the raw page, I get \r\n endings.
Naoki Takezoe
@takezoe
@ntchambers Unfortunately, currently there is no way to extend that pulldown menu.
Naoki Takezoe
@takezoe
Regarding the gist plugin, browsers may convert line separators automatically? Anyway, it would be nice if there is a way to keep original line separators...

Hi all! GitBucket 4.33.0 is now available! Obviously, this is the last release in 2019. Thanks for all your support this year and see you next year!

@SIkebe
Congrats!
Nicholas Chambers
@ntchambers
@takezoe thanks for the info! Is the gist plugin still actively monitored for issues? Theres a few other bugs in addition to that, that'd I'd like to report (just as an example, I can view a secret gist without being logged in as expected, but trying to view it raw requires me to sign back in).
watari3
@watari3
@takezoe Happy new year ! Thank you for releasing gitbucket 4.33.0. I just ask you the limitation of password. As you mentioned, if user define GITBUCKET_VALIDATE_PASSWORD=false, user can use all character as password. How do I do without this GITBUCKET_VALIDATE_PASSWORD ? I can't find it in system settings. Also, I can't find option settings on properties.
Naoki Takezoe
@takezoe
@ntchambers Since gitbucket-gist-plugin is one of default bundled plugins, I would say that its issues should be monitored actively. However, I don't have enough time to well maintain all of GitBucket and plugins recently so I'm not sure if we can fix this issue soon. Anyway, reporting bugs or requests are welcome.
Naoki Takezoe
@takezoe
@watari3 No way to disable password validation other than setting an environmental variable, a system property or CLI option for now. Because I'd like to prevent inexperienced administrators from using this option. See the following issue to know the background: gitbucket/gitbucket#1654
By the way, can someone reproduce this issue? gitbucket/gitbucket#2393
Nicholas Chambers
@ntchambers
Sounds good. I'm not in any rush to get these fixed, so I'll make issues for them
I can't reproduce the issue either :/
Although if I download from a subfolder it only downloads a zip of that folder (not sure if that's intended or not)
Naoki Takezoe
@takezoe
Thank you for checking. If you download a subfolder, its descendants should be included in a zip file. Let me try again.
