@ntchambers a) no, it uses an embedded sshd in java. b) can you post some logs?

Relatedly: I use docker with macvlan (and docker-compose) for my deployment, which means I get to dedicate an IP address to my gitbucket instance, which means I was able to assign port 22 without conflict. This required a patch and TCP forwarding (port 22->2222) and http forwarding with nginx. I can post details if people are interested in the setup.
(I think I required this in order to use gitbucket with hub)
Hm, well of course when I try to start it again it works. I'll keep messing around with it and if I break it again I'll post logs
Well, SSH works now for whatever reason ¯_(ツ)_/¯ Unrelated question - is it possible to update a Group's email? Currently the one I created is set to Wordmin@devnull but I can't find any way to change it
The only way I know to edit a group E-mail is directly trough persistence (Database edition) and I'm not even sure if that works
oh well, thanks anyways for responding
i just manually changed it in the database. its for personal usage anyways, so if i break it its not the end of the world
I have a question, have created a fit repository in my server. Can I use already existed repository path for Gitbucket
@krishna444 well gitbucket manages other things like ownership, importing existing repos isn't that troublesome, there are examples with scripts in wiki
Happy holidays! Does the plugin system allow you to do things like extend this menu?
(I'd like that to have a "New Snippet" option as well)
Also, is it expected that the gist plugin is storing content with \r\n line endings? I've got a file with plain \n line endings, but as soon as I paste into a gist, and then curl the raw page, I get \r\n endings.
@ntchambers Unfortunately, currently there is no way to extend that pulldown menu.
Regarding the gist plugin, browsers may convert line separators automatically? Anyway, it would be nice if there is a way to keep original line separators...
@takezoe thanks for the info! Is the gist plugin still actively monitored for issues? Theres a few other bugs in addition to that, that'd I'd like to report (just as an example, I can view a secret gist without being logged in as expected, but trying to view it raw requires me to sign back in).
@takezoe Happy new year ! Thank you for releasing gitbucket 4.33.0. I just ask you the limitation of password. As you mentioned, if user define GITBUCKET_VALIDATE_PASSWORD=false, user can use all character as password. How do I do without this GITBUCKET_VALIDATE_PASSWORD ? I can't find it in system settings. Also, I can't find option settings on properties.
@ntchambers Since gitbucket-gist-plugin is one of default bundled plugins, I would say that its issues should be monitored actively. However, I don't have enough time to well maintain all of GitBucket and plugins recently so I'm not sure if we can fix this issue soon. Anyway, reporting bugs or requests are welcome.
@watari3 No way to disable password validation other than setting an environmental variable, a system property or CLI option for now. Because I'd like to prevent inexperienced administrators from using this option. See the following issue to know the background: gitbucket/gitbucket#1654
I would like to know if it is possible, when creating a new repo, to preconfigure the "Priorities" and "Labels" according to my own settings? At the moment, I have to erase and rewrite everything every time.
Hello @Slkebe, Thank you for your response. I had searched the issues before writing on this thread but without results. Thank you for your response. I very much hope that this feature will be added. I thought it was a good idea to add a kind of repo model that would allow us to choose on which basis to create the new repo. Thanks again for the answer.
Hello all. I'm currently trying to connect to GitBucket using Intellij Clion (should be same as Idea). I asked this question before, as others have done. And there is no satisfactory answer: Is it possible to browse GitBucket repos from within Intellij IDEs? Yes, I know it depends upon whether API is implemented, etc. But I need to know whether it works or not. If it does not work, I'll file an issue. If it should work, I'll try to fix my setup. I think there should be a Wiki page with Intellij interop. This also concerns the task feature of Intellij that might connect to GitBucket issues.
I'm not really sure since I've never tried. Has someone tried to use IntelliJ with GitBucket?
Intuitively, IntelliJ's task feature doesn't work with GitBucket because GitBucket covers GitHub's API very partially. Also, I'm not sure which APIs we need to implement for that.
I tried it a year or two ago. According to my memory, most APIs work well. However, the most important feature, the search API, was not implemented. I have created a dummy API that returns all issues for any search. I think it is very difficult to implement this API correctly.
Hello , Is it possible to set gitbucket to use a bare repo?
We have a web server and wishes to version control this website.
I am currently setting up with apache + git , but is looking for easier solution.
@LowDensity do you mean [push to deploy] or [commit for every file change]
