Hello Everyone, I'am newbie , I'm looking for a way to import a plugin into my gitbucket. Can anyone guide me how to install this plugin?

@aymericDD The supported APIs are listed on the Wiki page. Create issue comment API could be used?
https://github.com/gitbucket/gitbucket/wiki/API-WebHook
@vicluy GitBucket plugins can be installed by putting jar file into GITBUCKET_HOME/plugins directory. GITBUCKET_HOME is ~/.gitbucket by default. For that plugin, you can find jar files at the release page: https://github.com/jyuch/gitbucket-backup-plugin/releases but I'm not sure whether that plugin works with a GitBucket version you use.

Hello there! i have just set up gitbucket and wanted to authenticate via ldap using the built in ldap authentication connector.
I have filled in all the information needed but when i try to authenticate using ldap users i get the following syslog messages:
19:03:39.891 [qtp463345942-11] INFO g.core.service.AccountService - LDAP error: System LDAP authentication failed.
19:03:12.332 [qtp463345942-14] INFO g.core.service.AccountService - Failed to authenticate: test.user
19:03:39.891 [qtp463345942-11] INFO gitbucket.core.util.LDAPUtil$ - LDAPException: Connection lost waiting for results from neudc001:636 (91) Connect Error
My LDAP server is not giving out publicly valid tls certs, maybe it has something to do with that?

I have now placed the cert into the Keystore path, i now also get this error message in the syslog:
19:34:21.757 [qtp463345942-58] INFO gitbucket.core.util.LDAPUtil$ - LDAPException: Reader thread terminated (91) Connect Error

Can we restore the deleted repository on gitbucket?
Naoki Takezoe
@takezoe
No, GitBucket physically deletes repositories. There is no way to restore once a repository is deleted.

@takezoe, a long time ago we briefly chatted about a GitBucket plugin I created called gitbucket-githooks-plugin (see quote below) and I asked the question of whether or not the plugin needs to override both Plugin.receiveHooks and Plugin.pullRequestHooks or just Plugin.receiveHooks.

I think GitBucket has to call ReceiveHook even when pull request is merged so that you won't need to implement PRHook aside from CommitHook. This is an issue on GitBucket side.

@takezoe, if you recall the GitBucket Git Hooks plugin I shared, you said that I shouldn't have to implement thePRHook since GitBucket is supposed to call ReceiveHook anyway. Do you know if this has already been fixed? We're currently on version 4.33.0.

After updating GitBucket to 4.35.3, I had to modify the plugin code to get it to work (see https://github.com/marshalhayes/gitbucket-githooks-plugin/pull/6/commits/c5cc00ee47208fc4848b54aef211772e80108510). Since then, the hooks appear to be running twice when using a pull request.

Is it still true in GitBucket 4.35.3 that I need to override bothPlugin.receiveHooks and Plugin.pullRequestHooks (i.e. GitBucket will not call the receive hook when a PR is merged, so I need to implement both PRHook and CommitHook)?

Hi, I have disabled forking option for a guest user but that user is still able to git checkout the repo.
xogium
@xogium
forking isn't preventing people from doing a git checkout ?
forking is preventing that user from making their own copy of that repo into their account…
unless that's what you meant, that they can still do that ?

Hello. I want compile on my laptop a plugin for gitbucket. But i have a problem for resolved

not found: https://repo1.maven.org/maven2/com/github/bkromhout/java-diff-utils/2.1.1/java-diff-utils-2.1.1.pom
[error] download error: Caught java.io.IOException: Server returned HTTP response code: 403 for URL: https://dl.bintray.com/bkromhout/maven/com/github/bkromhout/java-diff-utils/2.1.1/java-diff-utils-2.1.1.pom (Server returned HTTP response code: 403 for URL: https://dl.bintray.com/bkromhout/maven/com/github/bkromhout/java-diff-utils/2.1.1/java-diff-utils-2.1.1.pom) while downloading https://dl.bintray.com/bkromhout/maven/com/github/bkromhout/java-diff-utils/2.1.1/java-diff-utils-2.1.1.pom

This library is not available on bintray : error 403
I see that gitbucket upgrade diff-utils (https://github.com/gitbucket/gitbucket/commit/05e30fe64ae8907ced6f03e6b17bf9e5c4a32937#diff-5634c415cd8c8504fdb973a3ed092300b43c4b8fc1e184f7249eb29a55511f91)
but it haven't new release with this commit
Have you an idea to resolve this problem ?

Naoki Takezoe
@takezoe
@lilian-benoit Hmm... gitbucket.war contains all dependant libraries under WEB-INF/lib so you can find java-diff-utils.jar in there and you install it to your local Maven repository.
However, it a quite annoying workaround. Sounds like it's time to release the next version. I will consider it.

I'm trying to implement preReceive for gitbucket-githooks-plugin and I'm a little confused on what to return to satisfy the Option[String] type required by preReceive(). I found this, but it's not super clear to me what error is. Any help would be appreciated :) Feel free to at me or comment on the plugin's feature request marshalhayes/gitbucket-githooks-plugin#3
