erm… So, I've got spam user accounts on my gitbucket instance, and all I can do is disable them ?
I'm a bit confused
Naoki Takezoe
@takezoe
@xogium Do you allow visitors to register accounts?
xogium
@xogium
yeah, have to because manually creating an account for each user would be rather painful otherwise
but I thought gitbucket sent email for user verification ?
maybe I got it mixed up with something else
well there weren't that many of them around, at least… I disabled them, but I'm a little surprised they are still visible in the user databases and could be reenabled at any time
Naoki Takezoe
@takezoe
GitBucket doesn't provide email verification for user registration because it's originally designed to use in internal network. However, it may be worth providing it since many users actually use GitBucket in the public environment.

Hey everyone! This may be a really stupid question, but the file size restrictions in the system settings - is that in byte units?
Naoki Takezoe
@takezoe
@argosy_ops_twitter Yes, they are in bytes.

Thanks! I was also looking at the LFS documentation in the Wiki. That's from 2017 though with a hint towards a dedicated branch. Looking at the project now, I don't see any active branches - has the support been merged into main?
xogium
@xogium
I see, thanks Takezoe :)
Naoki Takezoe
@takezoe
@argosy_ops_twitter Yes, GitLFS support has been merged. It's available by default.

@argosy_ops_twitter
lfs file locking is not supported it seems?

batch request: Unknown command: git-lfs-authenticate <- anybody got a successful workaround for SSH connections?
Naoki Takezoe
@takezoe
Ah, file locking has not been implemented yet and I've never tried GitLFS on SSH with GitBucket...

Hi, I recently upgraded my GitBucket to 4.36.2 and the fess plugin stopped working.(codelibs/gitbucket-fess-plugin#38)
When I try it in another environment, it seems to work if it is 4.36.1, so considering the importance of the search function, I would like to downgrade to 4.36.1 if possible. Is such an operation possible?
I wish I could fix the plug-in problem if it was true, but I couldn't figure out how to fix it by looking at the source code... I am always grateful for your help, thanks.

Hello All, We have gitbucket users integrated with LDAP. And even after deleting the users who are not in the company. I still see users in the gitbucket user management list. Is there a way to delete the users from UI or DB?

Hi, I'm looking for an open source (or at least free) tool where I can define approval rules for git merge/pull requests. Is this feature supported somehow by gitbucket?
I need to be able to define the number of approvals and also the type of approvals (like 1 developer + 1 tester)

Hi, any integration level with third party like Jira, available with GitBucket ?

Another question please,
What is External URL for and how it's used?
External URL: (Fill if you use an external issue tracking system for this project)

Hey there all! We would like to run GitBucket with ssl (https). I've just realized that there is no out of the box support for this in standalone mode. I did some research and it looks not that hard to implement it. My question would be, If I'd do this via a PR, would it be accepted and merged into GB, or is there a reason that it's not available just yet?
Mészáros István
@imeszaros
I made the PR anyway.. :) gitbucket/gitbucket#2896

Hello guys, nice to meet you. I'd like to know if there's any chance to develop some kind of server-side hooks, using gitbucket.
drumbsd
@drumbsd
Or better, are server side hooks currently supported by gitbucket in native way? I don't think so, I'm just to find some confirm.
Naoki Takezoe
@takezoe
@drumbsd Do you mean servers-side git hook? If so, GitBucket doesn't support it.
drumbsd
@drumbsd
server-side git hook yes. Ok many thanks for the quick response.
drumbsd
@drumbsd
And about Webhooks, which kind of customization is possible to do? I mean I see that for some specific event, gitbucket could be configured to send a POST to an external URL. Ma this POST what kind of data contains?

Hello, I'm trying to configure a service hooks to do a POST on our internal JIRA server. I got this error: ERRORclass org.apache.http.ConnectionClosedException Premature end of chunk coded message body: closing chunk expected.
Anyone came across to this error before?

Fresh error after upgrading to Gitbucket 4.37.0:

java.sql.SQLException: Can't DROP 'IDX_WEB_HOOK_EVENT_FK0'; check that column/key exists

Naoki Takezoe
@takezoe
@ilgrosso Hmm, that foreign key should exist if your all past migrations have succeeded. Could you try again after adding the following FK by hand if it doesn't exist in your database?
  <addForeignKeyConstraint constraintName="IDX_WEB_HOOK_EVENT_FK0" baseTableName="WEB_HOOK_EVENT" baseColumnNames="USER_NAME, REPOSITORY_NAME, URL" referencedTableName="WEB_HOOK" referencedColumnNames="USER_NAME, REPOSITORY_NAME, URL" onDelete="CASCADE" onUpdate="CASCADE"/>

Hello guys, is gitbucket affected by CVE-2021-44228?
Shouldn't be, since I read that it uses slf4j and logback. Just to have a confirm.
Naoki Takezoe
@takezoe
GitBucket doesn't have a dependency on log4j2 at all. CVE-2021-44228 doesn't affect GitBucket.

@drumbsd
perfect many thanks.

GitBucket 4.37.1 is available. Some bundled plugins in GitBuclet 4.37.0 didn't work due to binary incompatibility. Please use this version instead of 4.37.0.
