@takezoe wondering how hard it would be to add some further detail around protected branches. I’d love to be able to choose who can commit to certain branches, even by group. IE master branch can only be merged to by administrators. allowing the devs to work on their branch and merge into dev, but only way to upstream that ot master is by adminstrator. is this hard/a feature request i or my team could possibly help with?

Gitbucket Gideon - you have something i want - quest to deliver Grogu to Jedi - program peer-to-peer programs, including new competitive games

you may think you have some idea of what you are in possession of but you do not - turning program into project is like Metrocity pushing Metroman to be their hero when he wants to be Musicman, redoing what's been done before is Goblinus's approach while Cleopatra wants Numerobis to bring new vision, siding with First Order by doing servers and accepting the galaxy without peer-to-peer games, twitch, github, email when Mandalorian and Jedi credo is p2p - when did Saruman the Wise abandon reason for madness?!

soon he will be back with me - plain as Cowspiracy: if Federer instead of competing for grand-slams settled for playing in some local swiss weekend league, if torrent clients accepted the Empire-server-networks only world instead of being the Republic of data and generating most traffic, if Jesus instead of healing a man's arm on Saturday approved elders' no-healing-on-Sabbath insane policy - even Darth Vader would hunt them down for being too dark-side

he means more to me than you will ever know - even dust of Gitbucket's starport we shake off of Blurrg feet, but be sure - free peer-to-peer programs, including fresh competitive games - are coming, no projects no experiments no money/donate/sponsor/ads/job lethal infection - programs, singing with their own voice like John Mayer Vultures at LA Live, better than what Borg of money can copy-gram - are on their way, like Pat Brown and Impossible Foods mission

this is the way

Jack Black: like a cross between a lightning bolt and James Dean, that's me - i only wish that i was you looking at meee

Hello! Tell me, please, is it possible in GitBucket to merge commits into one (squash commits) and cherry-pick? And if so, how? I couldn't find the merge commits button in the GitBucket interface like GitLab. Thanks!

Hi, i just upgrade gitbucket (stop gitbucket, replate the war file, and start it again). It's like fresh install, default user root/root and no more repositories. However, repositories are still present on server's disk. Is it possible to import them directly without pushing them (by whatever command or script in server-side) ?

hey guys, is there any workaround for me to create pre-filled text in the issues, I”m getting my whole team to submit issues as they find them, but those who aren’t dev’s are missing things like links and expected behaviour etc etc, I’ll rn some training with them, but wondered if i’m missing a way to add some hints in there easily?

Hello everyone,
Is there anyone who tried adding teamcity's commit status publisher to gitbucket ? if yes can you help me how to do it ?

Since gitbucket api is similar to github's api I've tried this config

Publisher : github
github url: http://url_gitbucket/api/v3/
for authentication type: I've tried both Access token and user&pass authentication
But I got each time either repository is innacessible or 401 error .

I've tried the good credentials but it's not working

So if anyone have tried this before can you help me

Thanks in advance

Hi guys! I'm trying to get my code from gitbucket to AWS codebuild, but I am not able to set it as a source. Tried using Github Enterprise but that did not work, later learnt that Gitbucket is not the same as that. Any commonly used alternative to do this?

When trying to clone our large repo we get a timeout that states: java.util.concurrent.TimeoutException: Idle timeout expired: 30000/30000 ms
We've tried configuring upload_timeout but still get the same message.
Anyone have any ideas?

Hello eveyone.
I need your help. I am trying to upgrade my gitbucket server. I clone the latest code from github (gitbucket version 4.37.2). And then build executable file. Replace the old gitbucket.war with the new one. Everything is working fine until i am trying to access a repo. It got "Internal server error" error. The log shows this "java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: gitbucket/core/model/ActivityComponent".

My dev environment: openJDK 1.8, sbt 1.6, Scala 2.13.8.

Anyone have any ideas? I appreciate your help.

I checked source code from github and see that you have drop ActivityComponent.
Naoki Takezoe
@takezoe
@giangduong Deletion of ActivityComponent gitbucket/gitbucket@bd06e6d is not included in 4.37.2. If you use the latest master that ActivityComponent has already been deleted, some plugins would need to be rebuilt because even if it's deleted on GitBucket, those plugins have implicit references to it.

Hi @takezoe . Yes, you are right. It is the latest master, 4.38.

Naoki Takezoe
@takezoe
@giangduong Yeah, rebuilding plugins for the new version of GitBucket requires installing gitbucket.jar to Maven repository but the latest master (= 4.38.0) is not ready to release yet. Please use 4.37.2 for now.

@shajanprince:matrix.org Is this plugin? https://github.com/jyuch/gitbucket-backup-plugin GitBucket plugin has supported GitBucket versions and this plugin doesn't seem to support such old version of GitBucket unfortunately.

can one host a wiki for a project on gitbucket without hosting the project itself on gitbucket ? That is, make a repo that would contain actual wiki pages and have it displayed properly ?
xogium
@xogium
hmm
not being able to delete a wiki page, does that ring any bell ?
I click delete page, click ok, and yet the page still shows up
Naoki Takezoe
@takezoe
GitBucket's wiki is just another git repo so it would work if you import wiki pages (Markdown files) to wiki repository on GitBucket. Isn't this what you want to do?

I click delete page, click ok, and yet the page still shows up

This might be a bug.

xogium
@xogium
hmm. I wanted to create just a wiki, kind of use gitbucket as a external wiki source
but in the end we ended up ditching github for the project and using gitbucket for the whole thing
I find gh way too restrictive on what you can and can't do with private repos unless you pay
I also updated the gitbucket instance, I thought I had the very latest version but nop. Looks like my version was almost one year and a half old
that might explain the wiki issues :D
