    Hello

    @VexyCats
    Hey all got a question - 1. Can I set up a bounty for answering a stackoverflow question??? https://stackoverflow.com/questions/56087853/how-do-i-return-a-json-file-from-s3-to-a-specific-url-but-only-that-url
    2 . if so - whats the best way to set it up
    VexyCats
    @VexyCats
    This gitcoin bounty above ^ was a little different
    I asked for people to help me on a stackoverflow question.... two people replied and its in contest mode
    One person who replied first gave me all this stuff to do.... the second person replied and theirs was MUCH better
    It actually is solved due to the second person - how do i decide who deserves the reward?
    The first person to answer with all this work done - or the second person who has the best way, with almost no work needed????
    (I feel bad for the first guy.... he did so much)
    @frozeman any thoughts?

    Its really up to you. In practice, I usually upfront tell people that I'll reward someone a first place reward and reward a second or third place.

    If you haven't done that upfront, then I guess you could decide whether you want to split the reward or you want to just pay 100% to the first place person.

    I don't like to burn bridges, so I usually pay out people who put in some level of effort a least a little.

    @VexyCats
    Well shoot. This was my first grant and you guys didn't reply in time.... so I sent it all to the guy who's answer I used.
    VexyCats
    @VexyCats
    But thanks for the reply and next time i'll split it up among the people.

    Hey @EthereumRevolu1_gitlab, our Slack (gitcoincommunity.slack.com) is more active and usually a better place to ask questions, but let's see if I can help out here.
    How can I help?

    I have joined "Breaking News: Reinventing the Online News Economy" two days ago. Do I have to submission job progress every three days? When I try to submit it, Fauset form appeared. Do I have to buy tokens or Ether?

    I would like to set up and pre-pay a bounty that has multiple, variable payouts. Right now this seems to only work by paying out, killing/closing the bounty, getting a refund, re-opening the bounty. Is there a better way?
    Anish Agnihotri
    @Anish-Agnihotri

    Hi @pstehlik! It's usually easier to receive a response through our Slack (which is generally more active, and can be found here: https://gitcoincommunity.slack.com/), but I’ll try to quickly answer your question here. From what I understand, you’re trying to fund a bounty say A, with X funds in advance, say 5ETH, which at a later point you’d like to use to payout multiple bounty hunters variable amounts. Due to the limitations of Standard Bounties atm (Gitcoin is unable to access the deposit once you’ve made it to the contract), the best way to do this is:

    1. Fund the bounty with a limited amount.
    2. Use Advanced Payout to pay the variable amounts to contributors.

    Or, of course, do it the way you mentioned above. None the less, I do encourage you reaching out to us over on Slack. I’m confident someone will have a better solution than the one I just came up with.

    Hope to see you there! Anish

    thx @Anish-Agnihotri - yes. that's the case. I got in contact with your folks via e-mail and got the same suggestion you mention.

    Hi everyone, I am currently having a problem. I am trying to submit my work.
    The submit work page opens up and I enter all data. I ticked the boxes right above the submit work button.
    As soon I click on Submit Work, MetaMask opens up and asks me to confirm. But it contains a message that there is an error in the smart contract and it will cost me ~11$ to send the transaction. That doesn't seem right. Any idea what is happening?

    Oi guys
    Just wondering how can I provide a custom token for a bounty payout?
    "Oh, and by the way Gitcoin’s New Bounty Form contains a task size estimator that works with tokens! If the token you are using is listed on Poloniex or EtherDelta, we have your data right in the UI."

    Hello :wave:
    Just claimed a tips to my address,
    Gitcoin told me "Congrats, Tips has been received" but
    I didn't received anything and the tx hash provided by the notification doesn't exist on etherscan. So what should I do, how can I get my money ?
    Thanks for your help

    Question on the bounties page (https://gitcoin.co/explorer?network=mainnet&idx_status=open&applicants=ALL&order_by=-web3_created): I see two times the filter for "status" on the left bar. Is this intentional, should they do different things? Or just a bug :-)?
    Anish Agnihotri
    @Anish-Agnihotri
    Hi @TripleSpeeder, that does look like a bug to me. This channel isn't as active as Slack/Discord though, so if you don't mind, submitting an issue on the Github here would be the best course of action.
