    For some of our larger repositories, it seems to take several days to import changes or to reindex the account. Is there anything in particular we can do to speed up the indexing?

    @goredani

    Hi Peter!

    Thank you for the feedback! Unfortunately currently there's nothing to do on your side to speed up the reindexing. We are investigating how we can decrease and optimize the reindexing time for larger repositories, until, please take this account when you are refreshing your repositories.
    I'll let you know if we made some improvements in the process.

    thanks @goredani - looking forward to it.

    Hi @peter-majeed ! Actually I need to dig into your case, because a reindexing does a full clone and a delta-analysis, processing just the changes since the last indexing.
    If this process takes days, than there might be other issues. Internally we use libgit2 and a linear complexity, incremental blame algorithm. The most time consuming part is the O(nm) Myers difference algorithm we run in each revisions.
    This diff algo is the default for git and libgit2.
    We are working on higher parallelization though.

    But again, I suspect there might be another problem we can invest as soon as I got home from vacation (the end of the week).

    @peter-majeed hey Peter! We've just released a new version and analyzed your repositories. Could You check it out?
    Peter Majeed
    @peter-majeed
    @kszucs had a look, things look good! Will this be fixed for index updates going forward, or was this more of a one-off?
    Krisztián Szűcs
    @kszucs
    @peter-majeed Hey Peter! Sure. It should work correctly now.
    Peter Majeed
    @peter-majeed
    @kszucs we noticed that the data seems to get stale every so often. Do we just need to rebuild when we see that happen?
    Krisztián Szűcs
    @kszucs
    @peter-majeed currently we've turned off automatic rebuilds so You need to trigger manually
    but in the near future we'll re-enable
    Peter Majeed
    @peter-majeed
    I've been trying to sync this manually. It had been working, but now I get a message as follows: ": object not found - no match for id (d06c6a34b37f000078000034b37f00001e196a41)". Any way we can get around this issue?

    Hey @peter-majeed!
    Krisztián Szűcs
    @kszucs
    Strange. That's probably a libgit2 issue caused by some sort of corruption during repo fetch.
    With a misleading error message.
    Actually I've faced that sort of error once, but couldn't reproduce locally. I'll dig deeper. Thanks for the report!
    Peter Majeed
    @peter-majeed
    no problem, @kszucs. Feel free to play around with our repos to reproduce.

    Cheers. The product seems keen, marketing less so. Twitter is a thing. Perhaps a Twitter Card for the site so when I share it, peeps get rich info rather than poor link? Also, you've got a Twitter account, perhaps add it to the Contact "section" (right now it's just a mailto link -- those are high friction, people are more likely to interact via social media for a simple one off like this one...)? Best of luck with the business!

    @coderabbi_twitter: You're awesome, we really appreciate your feedback. We've now inserted meta tags into our pages, so sharing should look nicer. And great suggestion about offering social messaging instead of email, will change that as well.
    Just ping us here if you have any other suggestions or feature requests - we're listening!
