    [Lee Tickett, GitLab] gitlab-org/gitlab#263111 seems like a nice one- though sometimes when you start digging it isn't the case- but fingers crossed

    I can't create merge request to gitlab-org/gitlab:master
    Is this problem only at my end!!
    The Gitter Badger
    @gitter-badger
    [Lee Tickett, GitLab] Hey Piall, really sorry about this, we have been seeing this issue. Unfortunately at the moment you just need to retry and it should work after 2 or 3 attempts :crossed_fingers:
    [Lee Tickett, GitLab] I think this is the issue gitlab-org/gitlab#329039

    Thanks, @gitter-badger but unfortunately it's not working. I have made 6 attempts.

    [Lee Tickett, GitLab] Damn. If you would like to add me to your fork and let me know the branch you are trying to raise the Mr from I can take a look later. I'm @leetickett

    [Lee Tickett, GitLab] Hopefully you're following the issue which is now marked as a P1 so being dealt with as #1 priority. Still ongoing, but I'm off the night so will continue to update tomorrow

    Is there a link for the issue?
    This is something that has been on going for a while. I think I got my MR through around the 7th time on Tuesday

    ah, awesome, thank you @gitter-badger / Lee 😃 Glad it triggers a bot message, hopefully something can be done to help it. Will read up on the issue and keep an eye on it

    I noticed this comment on a closed issue - https://gitlab.com/gitlab-org/gitlab/-/issues/336734#note_637306114 - if you open your MR without any commits it will create it straight away. You can then commit and push up your changes without any issues
    The Gitter Badger
    @gitter-badger
    [Lee Tickett, GitLab] thanks for sharing- great to know there's a workaround

    I'm trying to install GDK and I came across too many people complaining about its resource consumption. I have 8GB ram and from the docs, it says "at least" 8GB so not sure if I should go forward and install.

    Wondering how others set up GitLab dev environment?

    Hello everyone!

    The next GitLab hackathon occurs between the 8th and 9th of September. You can find all the necessary information about it in the relevant post on our Forum

    Hey, I'm the person who got MR merged in the June hackathon, but I don't think I've received my entry prize yet. I haven't received any email or anything. How about you guys?

    @espadav8:matrix.org

    @ulwlu: you could email contributors@gitlab.com. The Commit event is currently on so it is possible something was missed, but it also means that a response might take a while

    Anybody else getting 500 errors trying to add a MR?
    I've tried several times over the last half hour or so and I keep getting the dreaded 500. (At least I have my MR description on my clipboard)

    @espadav8:matrix.org

    @stingrayza_gitlab: yes, it's a known issue and being worked on. For now the best work around it to reset your branch and remove any commits, then open an empty MR, and then push the commits up
    Raimund Hook
    @stingrayza_gitlab
    cheers! (I often get it once or twice, but today's been a bit on the high side)

    hey everyone, I'm investigating this issue gitlab-org/gitlab#228774 partly because I've always been curious about how the .gitlab-ci.yml file gets parsed and also because, the change described in the technical proposal seems fairly simple so it looks like something that would be easy to do. That said, I'm not sure what file I ought to make this simple change in. So far I've investigated yaml_processor.rb, Gitlab::Ci::Config::Entry Is there anyone here who's more familiar with the CI parsing process who'd be willing to help me locate the problem spot for this issue?

    I am unable to start postgresql after gdk update

    here is gdk doctor

    GDK Status

    The following services are not running but should be:

    down: /home/skr/Gitlab/gitlab-development-kit/services/postgresql: 1s, want up; down: log: 3396s, normally up

    ➜ gdk restart postgresql
    ok: down: /home/skr/Gitlab/gitlab-development-kit/services/postgresql: 1s, want up
    timeout: down: /home/skr/Gitlab/gitlab-development-kit/services/postgresql: 21s

    [Lee Tickett, GitLab] Was working aok before? (thinking face emoji)
    [Lee Tickett, GitLab] Wonder if running one of the commands against test from https://docs.gitlab.com/ee/development/database_debugging.html would work
