Hello everyone, I saw this comment from April:
I see that zoom does breakout rooms, I never knew that: https://support.zoom.us/hc/en-us/articles/206476093-Getting-Started-with-Breakout-Rooms
We've been using breakout rooms for online CI/CD and other classes since March and found them to be very helpful for class engagement . For splitting up the main class into smaller groups for lab exercises, it seems to promote quality of interaction, pairing and mobbing.
Anyone know of opensource alternative with breakout feature?
Any other tips for GitLab and related online events to make them engaging (and/or recruiting good attendance) I'd love to hear, thanks!
Thanks to the GitLab Heroes Steering Committee for a great meeting this morning. That was our most productive call in a while. Thanks to @adrianmoisey_gitlab @nmeisenzahl @nuwe1_gitlab @VladimirAus and @itssadon_gitlab.
I intend to share an update with the wider Heroes community shortly (as soon as Adrian sends me my birthday gift  ). The tl;dr is that we have updates on the virtual Heroes Summit agenda and timing, a survey re: GitLab Heroes coffee chats, and a reminder about the Q3 OKR for Heroes.
FYI, the Heros Application link on this page is broken: https://about.gitlab.com/handbook/marketing/community-relations/evangelist-program/#gitlab-heroes-application-process
I was going to fix it, but when I forked the repo it's too large and won't allow me to make changes (see the #contributors) channel
