@Harrison-M
@mydigitalself why in particular do you recommend using the original over the fork? The original hasn’t seen much in the way of maintenance in six months.
Mike Bartlett
@mydigitalself
um...
@Harrison-M you mean not this: https://github.com/chjj/marked ?
and using our fork? or is there another cunning fork we don’t know about?
Harrison Massey
@Harrison-M
Your fork, yes
Was referring to the description, sorry
Mike Bartlett
@mydigitalself
i understand :)
there may be stuff in our fork specific to Gitter
we should actually have a chat with the marked guys and see if perhaps we should take it over
Harrison Massey
@Harrison-M
That’d be rad. I scrolled back through your commit log and didn’t see anything gitter-specific, largely just bugfixes that weren’t merged into marked. Possible I missed something though
We’re looking to move away from pagedown right now, the npm package hasn’t been updated in two years :/
Mike Bartlett
@mydigitalself
i’m not sure, i don’t really get involved much in that area, that’s more @suprememoocow’s baby
Harrison Massey
@Harrison-M

Heya
I've put some thought into creating a branch of our own but too be honest, marked feels like it's got a bit too much baggage to manage a fork.
Harrison Massey
@Harrison-M
Was wondering if there’s anything gitter-specific in your marked fork, there’s some significant bugfixes in yours that aren’t in chjj/marked
Andrew Newdigate
@suprememoocow
There are a few things, like git commit detection, email address link highlighting and a few other things
Harrison Massey
@Harrison-M
and it looks like the marked team hasn’t merged anything or published to npm in a while
Andrew Newdigate
@suprememoocow
Plus, lots more tests!

Alright, thanks, appreciate it :)
Andrew Newdigate
@suprememoocow
To be honest, there's not much in there that's specific to us. You're welcome to give it a go and we would definitely consider pull requests
Harrison Massey
@Harrison-M
Thanks!

@suprememoocow
Cool :)
