@serapath It would be something more to bring up on the GitLab issue tracker. I don't see something existing https://gitlab.com/gitlab-org/gitlab/issues?scope=all&utf8=%E2%9C%93&state=opened&search=bounty
But there is a feature request to add that bounty feature to GitLab iteslf (aside from your actual question),
@serapath The MR will be approved and merged once the review points there are addressed, gitlab-org/gitter/webapp!1590
But we may want to switch gears to solve it, https://gitlab.com/gitlab-org/gitter/webapp/merge_requests/1590#note_221665234
@MadLittleMods is it merged? What is stopping the PR? Should I do something else?
In our app, people switch themes and i would love to be able to adapt the gitter chat accordingly :-) ...but i see, the gitter project is not set up in a very flexible manner and it is quite hard to get changes merged i guess.
any chance this might get merged somehow? gitlab-org/gitter/webapp!1590
@serapath There is still feedback on that MR to address. And there is a bigger conversation around whether it is the right approach, https://gitlab.com/gitlab-org/gitter/webapp/merge_requests/1590#note_221665234
Happy to move it along after it is addressed
_gitlabpossible? maybe if you added this stuff recently
@MadLittleMods I know that we are getting Faye
/api/v1/rooms/:roomId/chatMessages message from yourself before response from Rest
/chatMessages, so Faye is faster than Rest. when i got message from Faye, how can I know if this message was sent from my own client?
@uuttff8 You won't know just from the response.
You can use the method I mentioned in https://gitlab.com/gitlab-org/gitter/webapp/-/issues/2469#note_315352867 to remove the temporary message you show in your UI while the request is loading
