Mike Bartlett
@mydigitalself
Mar 31 2015 12:51

Mike Bartlett
@mydigitalself
Mar 31 2015 13:24

Omer Katz
@omerzimp
Mar 31 2015 13:24

Mike Bartlett
@mydigitalself
Mar 31 2015 13:24

Mar 31 2015 13:24

Mike Bartlett
@mydigitalself
Mar 31 2015 13:25

Yup but it's not where you'd expect it on ubuntu
Mike Bartlett
@mydigitalself
Mar 31 2015 13:26
ah right
Omer Katz
@omerzimp
Mar 31 2015 13:27
that's why I was confused
I have gitter 2.3.1
Mike Bartlett
@mydigitalself
Mar 31 2015 13:27
that's up to date
can you try toggle Gitter next from that same menu and see i you still get the error?
Omer Katz
@omerzimp
Mar 31 2015 13:29
yes I do get that error with gitter next
so that might be the cause of the issue
Mike Bartlett
@mydigitalself
Mar 31 2015 13:32
but you get it on both next and normal? do you get it in chrome?
Omer Katz
@omerzimp
Mar 31 2015 13:32
I don't know I use firefox
Mike Bartlett
@mydigitalself
Mar 31 2015 13:33
does it happen there?
Omer Katz
@omerzimp
Mar 31 2015 13:33
nope
Mike Bartlett
@mydigitalself
Mar 31 2015 13:34
very odd indeed. and does it happen in all chats all the time and also in the people list on the left?
Omer Katz
@omerzimp
Mar 31 2015 13:34
only the people list on the left
Mike Bartlett
@mydigitalself
Mar 31 2015 13:34
the blue one?
or the one in the chat you mean
sorry, i meant list on the right
Omer Katz
@omerzimp
Mar 31 2015 13:35
the one in the chat
Mike Bartlett
@mydigitalself
Mar 31 2015 13:35
ok, and in the people list on the right, that's fine?
Omer Katz
@omerzimp
Mar 31 2015 13:35
LOL
omerzimp @omerzimp things we should get our terminology straight
Omer Katz
@omerzimp
Mar 31 2015 13:36
The peoples list on the left is also the rooms list (I have open private conversations with them)
That's not supposed to do anything on hover right?
The people list inside this room does not show the popover
Hovering on specfiic authors of messages works correctly
Screenshot from 2015-03-31 16:38:47.png
@mydigitalself see where my mouse is?
Mike Bartlett
@mydigitalself
Mar 31 2015 13:56

sorry, had to jump on a call

[ left menu ] [ chat area ] [ right toolbar ]

so you see it just fine in the chat area next to the chat messages, but you don't see it when you hover somebody in the right toolbar under where it says People Repo Info ?

Omer Katz
@omerzimp
Mar 31 2015 13:57
yup
exactly
Mike Bartlett
@mydigitalself
Mar 31 2015 13:58
weird, it's the same widget
does anyone else on linux experience this? no hover popover on the right toolbar people list.
Omer Katz
@omerzimp
Mar 31 2015 14:10
can you try to follow the stacktrace and see what's going on?
Mike Bartlett
@mydigitalself
Mar 31 2015 14:12
give me a sec, busy deploying something and want to see if it's still broken on that, and if so, will then ask you to expand the error so can see a bit more
the minified error is difficult to determine
Mike Bartlett
@mydigitalself
Mar 31 2015 14:20
@omerzimp can you restart your client and try again. if it still happens, can you click on the error in router-chat and expand it so we can see the source better and then send that over to me please maybe in 1:1 via a screenshot ?
Omer Katz
@omerzimp
Mar 31 2015 14:21
yay gitter crashed
I can't open the devtools now
Gitter just crashes
Mike Bartlett
@mydigitalself
Mar 31 2015 14:22
every time you open devtools?
Omer Katz
@omerzimp
Mar 31 2015 14:22
yup
Mike Bartlett
@mydigitalself
Mar 31 2015 14:22
wtf
Omer Katz
@omerzimp
Mar 31 2015 14:23
now it doesn't
right
I don't get the full stacktrace though
brb
got it
Screenshot from 2015-03-31 17:26:05.png
Omer Katz
@omerzimp
Mar 31 2015 14:41
@mydigitalself is the stacktrace more useful?
Mike Bartlett
@mydigitalself
Mar 31 2015 14:43
if you click on router-chat.js:13 and expand by clicking on the { } in the dev tools, that would be very helpful, will show us a lot more context
Omer Katz
@omerzimp
Mar 31 2015 14:45
sorry I don't see {}
Mike Bartlett
@mydigitalself
Mar 31 2015 14:48
can you send me a screenshot of what you see when you click on router-chat.js:13 to the right?
i would have assumed it's the same as on the Mac, but may be different

Omer Katz
@omerzimp
