@MadLittleMods I just left a comment on gitterHQ/desktop#80

@johnsonw Did you try the code from the gitterHQ/desktop#master or the PR?

Both. #master launched the login screen, but gitterHQ/desktop#80 didn't launch the window. I put the output in the comment.

Thanks, it wasn't clear to me from the comment
@johnsonw What about testing with the one line proxy fix in master?

I'll give that a shot now.
Looks like the window still does not open if I add the one line on the #master branch.

Heya
Can you launch the Gitter app from CMD with --remote-debugging-port=9222 --passthrough-remote-debugging-port=9222? Then visit localhost:9222 and see if there are any errors on either instance

It seems that the update process didn't close the old instance but it did update properly

It was updated in v3.0.1 to only pop every 24 hours if there is an update and v3.0.3 is the latest currently

:+1: glad it is working now but I am curious on how we can fix that rogue instance that wouldn't quit or how it happened. If you are able to reproduce in the future, we would love to hear more details

Wonder if @pragyes31 issue is similar to or the same as mine.
Looks like he's on Win 10 whereas I'm on 7, though.
Although, his upgrade eventually powered-through, it seems. Alas, mine has not.

@mmic-bjohnson That issue was just with the old instance not exiting and starting the new one. Starting it up manually showed the updated version

Oh, okay, so unrelated.
I'm inclined to fold and install 3.0.3, but I'd also like to help determine what's failing here.
