jonathanjt
@jonathanjt
(I work with Rob btw)
I added the maven repo as:
maven {
url "https://oss.sonatype.org/content/groups/staging/"
}
and
compile 'com.glazedlists:glazedlists:1.11-SNAPSHOT'
Rob Eden
@robeden
I'm a maven newb and dragged my team in here. ;-)
jonathanjt
@jonathanjt
which gradle can't seem to find. I've tried variations on the naming, and even added an artifactUrls to the repo (just in case), but no luck. any suggestions?
Michael Cordero
@michaelcordero
@hbrands i too can't seem to import glazedlists:1.11
Holger Brands
@hbrands
@jonathanjt did you try version 1.11 instead of 1.11-SNAPSHOT?
I just tried with a minimal maven project to download glazedlists 1.11 from repo https://oss.sonatype.org/content/groups/staging/ and it worked.
jonathanjt
@jonathanjt
Yes I did try with 1.11
Michael Cordero
@michaelcordero
@hbrands that link appears to be working for me...
cancel that comment^

@jonathanjt
The repo works, yes, but it can't seem to locate the jar
Holger Brands
@hbrands
jonathanjt
@jonathanjt
sure, I was just trying to get it set up to pull the online version for easy updates
Rob Eden
@robeden
@hbrands - We tested in our product and everything looks fine. No visible problems. Ship it!
... and let me know if you need help with any of the "ship it" details.
Holger Brands
@hbrands
Just to let you know that I can also download it with a minimal gradle project
'''
apply plugin: 'java'
sourceCompatibility = 1.7
version = '1.0'
jar {
manifest {
attributes 'Implementation-Title': 'Gradle Quickstart',
'Implementation-Version': version
}
}
repositories {
mavenCentral()
maven {
url "https://oss.sonatype.org/content/groups/staging/"
}
}
dependencies {
compile group: 'com.glazedlists', name: 'glazedlists', version: '1.11'
testCompile group: 'junit', name: 'junit', version: '4.+'
}
task showMeCache << {
configurations.compile.each { println it }
}
'''
Perhaps only registered OSSRH users can download? I don't know...
@robeden Ok, I'll do it tomorrow...
Rob Eden
@robeden
Thanks
Holger Brands
@hbrands
@robeden Release 1.11.0 should now be available from Maven Central.
I'll do some last tests at work tomorrow and will then make the annoucement.
Thanks for testing!
Rob Eden
@robeden
👍
Thanks for all your work on the release!
Holger Brands
@hbrands
Rob Eden
@robeden
Ok, cool. Hey, I was going to ask you: are you working on the bug for adding Java 8 method implementations? (finding number...)
This one: glazedlists/glazedlists#644
We've implemented a couple at work that I could patch in, but I didn't want to do anything you're already doing.
Holger Brands
@hbrands
No, I'm not busy with this issue. Please go ahead, if you like :+1:
Rob Eden
@robeden
Ok, I'll go ahead and grab it.
Holger Brands
@hbrands
I'm looking at #645 #646 and #647 right now...
Rob Eden
@robeden
For #646, are you just going to make Matcher extends Predicate? (for example)
Holger Brands
@hbrands
Analog to Guava:
https://github.com/google/guava/blob/master/guava/src/com/google/common/base/Predicate.java
so you can use Matcher as java.util.Predicate
If you find other useful cases besides Matcher and Function please add them to the issue..
So, I'm offline for today...
Rob Eden
@robeden
good night
Rob Eden
@robeden
Travis now performs java 9 builds in addition to java 8. There was a compile issue which I believe is now fixed... but unfortunately they are "Experiencing Issues with Google Cloud Platform Google Compute Engine" and things are just acting weird right now.
Rob Eden
@robeden
Normality should be restored to Travis builds. In addition to enabling Java 9, the jaxb module had to be enabled for Hibernate unit tests.
Holger Brands
@hbrands
Ok, thanks.
Holger Brands
@hbrands
FYI: I removed the japex extension in favor of jmh benchmarks: #655
Rob Eden
@robeden
I saw that. Seems like a good move.
I have a research branch I need to get pushed up for you and Fabian to look at. I played around with the stuff we talked about in #626 and think I have some interesting stuff. Not necessarily intending it for 1.12, but worth some thought.
I managed to add a new ListEvent API without breaking the old one.
... but I need to resolve the branch after your mega inspection cleanup checkin. 😜
Holger Brands
@hbrands
Sorry, I wasn't aware that you've some things in the pipeline...sounds interesting.
Rob Eden
@robeden
I didn't really PLAN to do it... I just got interested one night and it sort of happened. It's likely very researchy at this point. I don't know that we'll want to go in the direction I've gone, but I suspect you'll like at least some of it. :smile:
Holger Brands
@hbrands
Ok, I'm working on #658 now and hopefully #648 next week. We already have some optimization of SeparatorList in production I'd like to "backport".
Rob Eden
@robeden
Did we make a decision on the IO (aside from CachingList) stuff? I know there was talk about pulling it too.
Holger Brands
@hbrands
I heared no objections so far for my proposal ;-)
https://github.com/glazedlists/glazedlists/issues/658#issuecomment-373991411
But perhaps we get some additional feedback when the deprecations are in the 1.12 SNAPSHOT...
Rob Eden
@robeden
I'd missed or forgotten that comment. Sounds good to me.
