    hi! I'm trying to implement a boxplot viewer in glueviz, and I was wondering if there is any method to add more options to the subsets (in this case would be a shift from the central position)

    @EnricoGiampieri - hi! could you explain a little more what you are trying to do? Are you implementing a boxplot viewer using the custom_viewer infrastructure?
    Do you always want to apply the same shift, or have this be a user option?
    Thomas Robitaille
    @astrofrog
    @bmorris3 - just for info we have a Gitter room for glue, so you can ask any questions here too if you like

    Thanks @astrofrog =D

    @bmorris3 - just for info, I merged a bunch of bug fixes and improvements in the core glue code and the 3d viewers yesterday, so make sure you are up to date when experimenting with the time-dependent data.

    @bmorris3 - did you have any luck with the 3D time-dependent visualization? :)

    @astrofrog I've been swimming in work related to producing the 3D positions that I need to visualize with Glue. I'm hopeful that I'll be able to get working on the visualizations within the next month, but if the challenges associated with getting the positions continue, it's possible that it will fall off my radar again.

    Hi, I'm running into an odd, likely PEBKAC problem. I've created a pandas dataframe (dtypes include datetime and categorical), exported this as a dictionary and added to Glue. When creating a histogram of the date, I'm now seeing a minimum value in each bin of roughly total/Nbins. I believe this to be incorrect, but I'm wondering where my mistake came in when generating the histogram. Any suggestions for digging in?

    Ah hah! Never mind, the datetime type was lost in how I was passing the data to Glue.
    Now it works as expected.

    @MatthewTurk - sorry for not replying sooner - I just saw these messages. I would actually like to create a specialized date/time component and have the ability for the user to make sure that they can convert string components to date/time by specifying a format, etc - see glue-viz/glue#982 for more details
    @PennyQ - sorry, I closed our chat room by mistake and I can't rejoin it for some reason - do you see the new one I created?

    Nice, @astrofrog @MatthewTurk and @keflavich are here. I heard there was a Glue training at Harvard last week.
