(as much of the traceback as I can fit on one screen; the last line there is the bottom)

collectd?
the screenshot is mavlogd trying to start without influxd running I think?

I think it's collectd... that's what showed up in journalctl -xe after trying the maverick start collectd
Fnoop
@fnoop
the first screenshot is definitely mavlogd failing to connect to influxd
do maverick log collectd to see why that isn’t starting

Ooooh that's a neat trick :)
Fnoop
@fnoop
easier :)

@mishaturnbull
p.s. is it a good idea to do the occasional sudo apt update & upgrade, or should I let maverick handle the updating? Not sure if any particular packages need to be held back or something
Fnoop
@fnoop
yeah sure do a system update whenever you want. maverick generally keeps it’s own software in ~/software. It pins/holds whatever packages it needs to
Misha Turnbull
@mishaturnbull
Ahh, gotcha
Fnoop
@fnoop
if it’s a major update after a while, good idea to run another configure just to make sure
Misha Turnbull
@mishaturnbull
The only one that stood out was grafana, but it was 8.1.4 -> 8.1.5, so I wouldn't expect much to break with only a patch increment
Misha Turnbull
@mishaturnbull
Although -- relating to mavlogd failing to connect to influx, after that one first log file appeared in Grafana, no more have been processing... it looks like a timeout error trying to connect to influx in the mavlogd logs
p.s. apt upgrade finished, rebooted, re-configured, now collectd is happy :)
Fnoop
@fnoop
cool :)

@fnoop where can i find a v1.2beta os img for jetson nano?
Fnoop
@fnoop
hey there isn’t one at the moment but can be produced. do you have the 2gb or 4gb?
Chris
@NorCALUAVs
4gb
Fnoop
@fnoop
Cool that's what I've got be interested to see if we can produce a single image that works in 2gb as well
Chris
@NorCALUAVs
i have the 2gb model as well

@kazeka
hi all! can somebody please advise on suitable distro to bootstrap to dev in desktop virtual machine? (i tried debian 11 and 10 with no success)
Fnoop
@fnoop
hey! debian should work fine - the raspberry build is based on debian 10 i think
it’s tested mostly with ubuntu, 18 and 20
if you raise an issue with any problems you hit with debian, be happy to take a look
i keep meaning to upload a VM image, I’m battling with trying to get a jetson nano image working currently..
Alexander Kazeka
@kazeka
thanks for speedy reply @fnoop! turns out it was likely the problem with vmware player i was using, bootstrapping with ubuntu 18 virtualbox seems to have worked
Fnoop
@fnoop
cool :). did the bootstrapping go ok all the way to complete dev environment?
Alexander Kazeka
@kazeka
yes
overall
what kind of problems are you having with nano? i ran into some issues with nx too..
will do an retry mon)
Fnoop
@fnoop
I have a script/process to create the image from the Tegra tools once completed, but it doesn’t work anymore with the latest Jetpack - the resulting image just doesn’t boot.
Will try again today with some updates

DrystanUAVX
@DrystanUAVX
@fnoop is this channel still monitored?
I am trying to build on another SBC board (currently trying an UP2 extreme and a another cheap ARM box)
I am not getting consistent builds I have tried ubuntu 18.04/20.04/22.04
is there a known setup (OS/build) that is a good starting point?
