we want to actually present repos content with gitlab APIs to filter repos per topics, for instance
Zbyněk Winkler
@zwn

What is the plan with
https://gitlab.com/go_commons/OSE/D3D-printer/
and its branches?
_
Jose Carlos Urra Llanusa
@jurra
oh this one was actually an invite for OSE community
to update it and learn git, gitlab, etc
so the plan is to have a repo documented properly to have a demonstrator of open source documentation
but also for design improvements, etc.
Zbyněk Winkler
@zwn
what about the branches?
is there a plan to merge them back to master?
Jose Carlos Urra Llanusa
@jurra
The branches was an example I made for them to show them how branches can be used to do versions
we have different options there:
And the idea was to decide with them,
one option is to have a repo with different folders for different versions
and a well documented readme guiding the users
other is to point in the readme to different branch links
Zbyněk Winkler
@zwn
hmm
Jose Carlos Urra Llanusa
@jurra
and the last option is to have a dedicated repo for each version
maybe in a subfolder
I think the best here is to chose a scalable model
Zbyněk Winkler
@zwn
I see a big difference between a 'version' and 'variant'
Jose Carlos Urra Llanusa
@jurra
that doesn't break, is modular and also simple to handle
yes there is also the release concept
for instance for CEB press, there are variations, there are different prototypes and builds
they are all called versions
and is a maze
:smile:
Zbyněk Winkler
@zwn
d3d tube for me is a variant or alternative of the stock d3d not a version
Jose Carlos Urra Llanusa
@jurra
yes I agree
Zbyněk Winkler
@zwn
I mean, both will live indefinitely
