so, if I need to write a tiny web-app for configuring a system, what should I use? elm? clojurescript? purescript? anything-but-javascript? ;)

those are good options imo :D
js_of_ocaml is looking pretty good also
but don't think there are any released react or vdom libraries yet

not sure yet, I might be able to sneak in Haskell (servant)
the only other developer is a C-is-the-best-language-on-earth person, but I doubt he'll suggest I write a REAST/JSON/... server in C ;)

you might not agree, but for a config web app i think the dynamic nature of cljs is a pretty good fit
i usually don't enjoy data marshalling in static languages a lot
