so spoiler alert, I'm preparing a cross-meetup group meeting with the React.js group in göteborg
btw if you are interested in front-end and haven't been to one of the react meetups, I really recommend going! super nice crowd, and getting interested in Functional Programming. If you want to help with bridging knowledge, this is a great way to do it

On that topic, anyone know any desktop libraries for Elm/react style GUI on the JVM or for F#? (So not JS+Electron.)

I don't know, I would not go around dismissing either of them. I actually like the JVM (tooling is great), and Scala is helping a lot spreading FP

@Jell sorry, emojis are not ideal for articulating a point and I came across as unnecessarily hostile. Technological choices are political, economical and cognitive, so there's little rationality behind them and even less need for arguing over them.
So, to even out the count, I'll just add :sparkles: Haskell :sparkles:

BTW, a snippet from an actual job ad found today: "Vidare ser vi det som meriterande om du har kunskaper i ASP.NET, machine learning, 3D (ex. Unity), UX-design, [..]"
a bit like "Experience in plumbing, ballet, quantum theory and beekeeping is meritorious."
