@jolod about the Elm thing I did not realise the struct / records could be generic / parametric in that way, so yeah now it's more clear that this actually cover a large portion of the use cases of type classes which is cool!
I misunderstood the things I read about Elm thinking that records could only contain non-generic types, so I was very wrong there. I still get easily confused when terms are throws around like "higher order kinds" and things like that :p that's dunning-krueger for you, me believing I understood a concept when really I was far from understanding it
