[J_Darnley, irc.freenode.net] Sort of. I was trying out the various clang tools
[J_Darnley, irc.freenode.net] I ended up just using the Clang Static Analyzer

[J_Darnley, irc.freenode.net] Oh wow. I have an open issue and merge request on gitlab
[J_Darnley, irc.freenode.net] Did it ever email me about them? I don't thinkso.

@J_Darnley the merge request is probably mine. not sure if it's still required or if you moved away from make

[grandchild, irc.freenode.net] oh yeah i opened an issue about json
[grandchild, irc.freenode.net] that would be my next target. i would love to do AVSTrans APE (because that's a big blocker for many of my fav presets) but I think that's a lot of work
[J_Darnley, irc.freenode.net] idleberg: I think it is. You shouldn't need it when building with scons, the transforms are done inside there (python). However I plan to still support using make.

"supports/ignores C-style comments in the JSON"
jakob
@grandchild
Feb 19 2016 23:36
[grandchild, irc.freenode.net] idleberg: yes, i like that. :P the content.json and tables.json are basically source code, and i want to have remarks in them
Jan T. Sott

by specs, there are no comments in json
jakob

Feb 19 2016 23:36
[grandchild, irc.freenode.net] components.json, but
[grandchild, irc.freenode.net] i know!
[grandchild, irc.freenode.net] still

cson has support for comments though
why pick a file format if you don't follow its standards?
jakob
@grandchild
Feb 19 2016 23:38
[grandchild, irc.freenode.net] because it's widely supported?
Jan T. Sott
@idleberg
Feb 19 2016 23:38
"widely"
jakob
@grandchild
Feb 19 2016 23:38
[grandchild, irc.freenode.net] umm yeah?
[grandchild, irc.freenode.net] json is pretty much the second thing after xml
Jan T. Sott
@idleberg
Feb 19 2016 23:39
just view ANY json source on gitlab that contains comments
jakob
@grandchild
Feb 19 2016 23:39
[grandchild, irc.freenode.net] i know, but i don't care _that_ much about what github/lab does
Jan T. Sott
@idleberg
Feb 19 2016 23:40
why dont you invent your own format then?
or go with widely used alternatives
jakob
@grandchild
Feb 19 2016 23:40
[grandchild, irc.freenode.net] why are we arguing about this?
[J_Darnley, irc.freenode.net] Hue. "BE SURE TO REMOVE THESE COMMENTS BEFORE USING THIS TEMPLATE SINCE COMMENTS ARE NOT ALLOWED IN JSON"
Jan T. Sott
@idleberg
Feb 19 2016 23:41
what kind of comments need to be in there?
jakob
@grandchild
Feb 19 2016 23:42
[grandchild, irc.freenode.net] obviously the ones i have in there, in my infinite wisdom, i deemed worthy

to answer your question: it's annoying when you have to work with an invalid format and your editor and your lint tools complain about it

[grandchild, irc.freenode.net] what good would a .gcson file be to you then? automatic plaintext "highlighting"
[grandchild, irc.freenode.net] i mean sure, i can change the extension

[grandchild, irc.freenode.net] i just like json, and this is the first time i'm hearing about cson (which is also a json lib for C)

cson is simply the coffeescript version of json
