Someone was asking earlier on how to start grin node as daemon sudo ./grin --floonet server start
Michalis Kargakis
@kargakis
@cagindonmez_twitter I'd suggest using systemd
Lavalulu

Lavalulu
@Lavalulu

zeefporto
@zeefporto
guys have we to create an new wallet for mainnet?
Ignotus Peverell
@ignopeverell
@mcdallas I thought the grin miner worked on windows?
Mike Dallas
@mcdallas
i was only able to make it work on WSL
Lavalulu
@Lavalulu
@ignopeverell any other pool you could recommend for tomorrow if I wont be able to use my current floonet account on mwgrinpool?
Ignotus Peverell
@ignopeverell
@Lavalulu grinmint seems to be working just fine
Lavalulu
@Lavalulu
allright, thank you
I like mwgrinpool, so if they will allow me i will mine with them.
goodluck with all the preparations for tomorrow igno
Ignotus Peverell
@ignopeverell
thx
@mcdallas remember what was the culprit for native windows?
Mike Dallas
@mcdallas
first it was ncurses but I disabled the tui from cargo.toml
then some error when compiling the plugins
actually It might be my cmake version I have 3.12
let me try that
Quentin Le Sceller
@quentinlesceller

Gentle reminder that ChainRift intends to list GRIN with automatic deposits and withdrawals soon following the main net launch. It's also KYC-free up to $2500/day.

Check it out and let us know what you think! https://www.chainrift.com/

skingun
@skingun
@quentinlesceller It does matter. The availablity/circulation of cards that can hash C31 is much less than C29. If C29 to C31 ratio is greater than 9:1 C31 will be more profitable.
Quentin Le Sceller
@quentinlesceller
Yes and you will get more grins for that
zeefporto
@zeefporto
guys, where coins are storage after we sent to our linux wallet?
locally?
skingun
@skingun
Can you share your algorithm for cal
I can't delete messages on mobile. @quentinlesceller can you share your algorithm for calculating rewards on C31.

zeefporto
@zeefporto
any help?
Ignotus Peverell
@ignopeverell
@mcdallas looks like a little issue in @tromp Cuckatoo compilation, I'm sure he can fix that in no time
perhaps file an issue against https://github.com/tromp/cuckoo ?
skingun
@skingun
Thanks @quentinlesceller let me know where you post it.
John Tromp
@tromp
@mcdallas no idea why windows complains cl : Command line error D8021: invalid numeric argument '/Wno-format' [D:\Mike\Documents\GitHub\grin-miner\target\debug\build\cuckoo_miner-3def29a5882a78f7\out\build\cuckaroo_cpu_avx2_19.vcxproj]
i never use windows, so can't reproduce either
David Burkett
@DavidBurkett
I just built that on windows a couple of days ago
Let me see what all I had to change
wuselfuzz
@wuselfuzz
that looks like extra gcc compiler flags are passed to the VS compiler

those are gcc/clang specific and won't work for vs
but then, it probably still won't work, since the pthread parts would require porting
(unless it's using std::thread from C++11)
David Burkett
@DavidBurkett
Sorry, got pulled into a conversation at work. I actually had to change quite a bit to get this to compile. Threads being one of them
