I remember I switched to official Cursive and no more using yeastplume/Cursive . @FelixWeis Are you using the latest master branch?
@lehnberg no idea, I have forgot grin-miner for a few weeks :smile: Are you runing for GPU or CPU?
lehnberg
@lehnberg
Hmm... Might be that I have an old grin-miner.toml that is causing issues. Good thinking @garyyu
Felix Weis
@FelixWeis
@garyyu : see gyscos/Cursive@2624c8d
Gary Yu
@garyyu
@FelixWeis I don’t understand what you’re doing. Are you building Grin?
Felix Weis
@FelixWeis
no grin-miner
Gary Yu
@garyyu
Oh, let me check it.
Felix Weis
@FelixWeis
grin also fails if i do cargo update before building
but works without
Gary Yu
@garyyu
what’s your cargo version?
Felix Weis
@FelixWeis
1.29.0-nightly on my macbook and 1.30.0-nightly on the server
ubuntu 18.04
ok weird now it compiles
Felix Weis
@FelixWeis
and it fails again lol
yeah but it's enumset 0.3.11 vs enumset 0.3.10 releated
Gary Yu
@garyyu

@FelixWeis Just upgrade my rust from 1.28 to 1.29, build with latest Grin master branch on mac, no problem. Please make sure you’re using the latest Grin master branch.

Now I go to check grin-miner with rust 1.29.

BTW, the Cursive 0.9.0 is using enumset 0.3.3, not 0.3.11.
Gary Yu
@garyyu
grin-miner also OK for rust 1.29. Sorry, I can’t reproduce your problem. Again, please create issue and upload your full build log, otherwise I don’t know how we can help you.
Felix Weis
@FelixWeis
hm okay thanks this is really weird
Gary Yu
@garyyu
you’re welcome @FelixWeis

@garyyu
@ignopeverell Could you please add docs and grin-miner as the Pinned repositories on home page of https://github.com/mimblewimble? that could make home page looks a little bit better, Thanks.

@garyyu
:) and would you mind to add these 6 keywords to the https://github.com/fastgrin/grin ? click Manage topics and paste these: mimblewimble rust cryptocurrency cryptography zero-knowledge-proofs grin. I think it could help on search engine.
Gary Yu
@garyyu
@FelixWeis just want to inform you that the enumset 0.3.11 has been changed to 0.3.10, both in Grin and Grin-miner, you can update to lastest master version to check it, it should fix your building problem.

Quentin Le Sceller
@quentinlesceller
Hey @yeastplume what's the correct way to update a dependency in rust-secp256k1-zkp (some code will also need to be updated)? PR in apoelstra repo or directly in mw repo?
Yeastplume
@yeastplume
@quentinlesceller depends what it is.. our rust-secp256k1-zkp diverges quite a lot from upstream now, so I think we're okay to just make the changes directly in there
Quentin Le Sceller
@quentinlesceller
Okay incoming PR cause I need rand 0.5 in Grin.
Yeastplume
@yeastplume
okay, no worries
mmm hold on, I've been tagging master rust-secp expecting to upgrade to T4 with it, so unless we start branching mayhem, we won't be able to include it until T4
Quentin Le Sceller
@quentinlesceller
Mmm not sure I understand. Why not create another tag once the PR is merged?
