    they were so fast to blame qt site for crashing api
    Michael Dougall
    @madou
    it isn't in local storage for two occassions, 1) first load, 2) cache was cleared
    Dominic
    @DomGrieco

    @madou
    for the regular users it wouldn't have affected it
    i think i should do something smarter with the cache
    never expire maybe, or expire once a month
    hmm
    anyone i gotta go

    API developer has put a 600 reqs/minute limit now, guess the script needs rework for continuous load? Like verifying it's passed a minute to keep on pulling data? This limit is per IP btw...
    also, you could store in localstorage the current server build version and then check against that on next pulls, if stored build numbr != current server build then clear cache and proceed to load all data again
    or keep it daily... whatever seems better
    not sure if it's better to update per build version, because the API details may change while the build version doesn't

    also, @madou the empty div sizes aren't really smooth if you consider the skill image file...
    for example
    blob
    the locked skill is bigger than the actual skill images, because it doesn't have a black border around it, so it doesn't really feel uniform
    Michael Dougall
    @madou
    Yeah. The background image isn't actually that great to use because it has its own (whitespace) border in it (I had to scale the image up so it wouldn't look weird), I think in retrospect I should just do it all in css and try to emulate the image instead... Will make a change later.
    The API limit won't really affect any user using the embeds
    That's a lot of requests, and when I make the batch api call changes will be even better
    Michael Dougall
    @madou
    uggh armory api keeps dying. need to investigate
    Michael Dougall
    @madou
    Looks like it was because of the gw2api dying from fetch hitting the limits haha, just turned it down .. need a better fix tho
    Paulo Filho
