hello world!

we're still unsure whether we want to go with the Gitter -- as it turns out, GitHub is also in the process of making a Discussions feature (https://github.com/vercel/vercel/discussions), and it would be more convenient for us to use that

@pradkrish
I agree that using github discussions feature would be better. Having said that, I would love to have a direct channel like this with other developers in the meanwhile. So I wouldn't mind using this until Github discussions feature is up and running.

@st-pasha
yeah, GitHub Discussions were announced back in May, 5 months ago. So it may take some more months for them to decide that the feature is finally ready
on the other hand, they could let us in earlier than that, because they allow some projects into the closed beta

By the way, I have just been picking issues to my liking to work on so far. I certainly wouldn't mind if you guys would like to me work in a coordinated fashion, that is, on issues that you prefer to prioritise. Although I must say that I am on parental leave currently (I am in Sweden) and I only get to work on datatable like an hour a day after putting my boys to sleep.

Congrats with your new family member!

We in US are on perpetual "parental leave" because of COVID :)

@pradkrish
Yeah, it's the same here, most people are working from home except it's not enforced with fines like in other countries.

Btw @oleksiyskononenko @samukweku i've found this style guide from Google: https://developers.google.com/style, and it looks awesome both in content and design

Hi @pradkrish, i've invited you to be an official project member, which gives ability to edit/label issues, and to create PRs directly in the repository (without having to maintain a fork).

Hi @st-pasha I don't know if you are still using gitter. I will try anyways. I have been looking into fread a bit more deeply in connection to #2680. I feel a bit lost :( and I have a few questions regarding fread. Is it possible to chat here, which could be faster than using github discussion, I suppose. Let me know if it works for you. Thanks.
