dvartdal
@dvartdal
you do? which one of the os'es do you use @havardgulldahl ? would love to try this one out :) tried it in raspian, but didn't get it to install (not that good at linux etc)
Håvard Gulldahl
@havardgulldahl
I have raspian, and I guess I just ran pip install jottalib.
@dvartdal what kind of error messages are you getting?
dvartdal
@dvartdal
just installed rasbpian again. I do think the first error was python
should i also install python first?
Håvard Gulldahl
@havardgulldahl
yes, but it should already be on there
so what does sudo apt-get install python give you?
dvartdal
@dvartdal
the error I got today and yesterday was: "Could not find function xmlCheckVersion in library libxml2"
@dvartdal run sudo apt-get install libxml2-dev libxslt1-dev before you try to pip install jottalib
dvartdal
@dvartdal
ugh, only have keyboard so don't know how to scroll up to see error
I only see: error: command arm-linux-gnueabihf-gcc failed with exit status 1
Håvard Gulldahl
@havardgulldahl
@dvartdal Do you have a /var/log/apt/term.log file?
look at it
dvartdal
@dvartdal
@havardgulldahl : modprobe: ERROR: ../libkmod/libkmod.c:557 kmod_search_moddep() could not open m$
but that is most likely not on your app
the log file had more
:P
let's see: "python.h no such file or directory
on the #include "python.h"
python is already newest version
Håvard Gulldahl
@havardgulldahl
ok, whenever you're missing .h files, install the -dev package
like sudo apt-get install python-dev
seems like something need python's source file to build a dependent package
dvartdal
@dvartdal
cool, thanks. haven't crashed yet after that.. how long should the install take?
sweet
installed
then the next step will be; sync to same folders I have synced before (via windows) :P
Håvard Gulldahl
@havardgulldahl
@dvartdal yes
dvartdal
@dvartdal
thanks!
Håvard Gulldahl
@havardgulldahl
:+1:
dvartdal
@dvartdal
for mounting, you use the fstab file?
dvartdal
@dvartdal
I got it mounted. also did a sudo nano .netrc in the /home folder. but when doing jotta-ls, it says it can't find username and password
dvartdal
@dvartdal
  1. Try with sudo nano = can't be accessed
  2. Added with pi user nano .netrc - Netrc access too permissive
got it working, forgot the chmod :)
dvartdal
@dvartdal

last question for tonight; when you do jotta-ls, you get the "Jottacloud" folder you typically get in Windows.

Is there a way to map to a "Sikkerhetskopi" ? f.ex: I have a safety copy called "Daniel" where I have two folders "Documents" "Images"

I want to monitor and sync "Documents" with my mounted "Documents"
Håvard Gulldahl
@havardgulldahl
@dvartdal Sure, just give the path like //Daniel/Documents
@dvartdal note the double slash
dvartdal
@dvartdal
yeah, got it working! but when syncing, it has to go through every folder to check for changes in the files?
is there a good routine you use when syncing? if I was to do the jotta-scanner on all files, it would take 16 hours per sync
Håvard Gulldahl
@havardgulldahl
@dvartdal currently, there is no other way to check if the tree is in sync
Håvard Gulldahl
@havardgulldahl
@dvartdal feel free to suggest another algorithm! :smile:
rkantos
@rkantos
Are things like rsync supposed to work with jotta-fuse?
I just get "bad address" when rsync tries to rename
Also when tried transferring ubuntu iso, the mount or connection is just gone and it has to be disconnected and reconnected..
rkantos
@rkantos
cp: error writing 'jottafs/Jotta/Sync/ubuntu-16.04.2-desktop-amd64.iso': Software caused connection abort
cp: failed to close 'jottafs/Jotta/Sync/ubuntu-16.04.2-desktop-amd64.iso': Transport endpoint is not connected
Now I need to fusermount -u etc...
rkantos
@rkantos
When I was able to upload files just now.. they show up from in the mount but not on jottacloud site.. Is it normal? :D
