Hylke Bons
@hbons
it looks like it's trying to remove a repo from the config
possibly the one added manually?
Máirín Duffy
@mairin_gitlab
yeh i'd bet
Hylke Bons
@hbons
here's maybe something you can try:
add a random GitHub repo
make sure it works
then just edit the ./.git/config and change the address from GitHub to GitLab
then you should be able to use the ":"
mairin_gitlab @mairin_gitlab tries it
Hylke Bons
@hbons
it should then pull in all the new changes on start
Máirín Duffy
@mairin_gitlab
hm
it's not pulling any changes
i edited the git config URL to the gitlab url
and restarted
but it doesnt seem to think theres changes to grab
maybe ill touch a file or something
Hylke Bons
@hbons
oh, also in the projects.xml
it's in two places
Máirín Duffy
@mairin_gitlab
oh change the url in the projects.xml too?
so changing the url last time made it crash but i can try again
okie here goes...
yeh same error
Hylke Bons
@hbons

hey folks, anyone here know if I can use sparkleshare with azure devops repos? I have a private repo I want to use but it seems the URL schema for the ssh protocol is slightly different and not passing some validation rules in sparkleshare

Hello, how does the sync mechanism actually work? Is it on some timer frequency, or event based?

@hbons , a while back we had some discussion about moving a SparkleShare repository from one remote server to another. Unfortunately I've been forced to change my hosting service and I'm trying to move my SparkleShare repositories, preferably without pulling from the old server and pushing to the new as some of my repositories are very large (80+GB). I've tried moving a small repository to test the process, using the following steps:
  • cloned the remote repository from the old server to the new using git clone --mirror
  • shut down SparkleShare on my computer (Ubuntu 20.04 LTS, latest released flatpak version of SparkleShare);
  • updated the remote server with Git: git remote set-url origin ...
  • confirmed that Git now sees the remote by making a small change to the repository on my local computer and pushing this to the remote server
  • restarted SparkleShare (flatpak run org.sparkleshare.SparkleShare)
  • in the console output from SparkleShare, I see that it immediately removes my test repository:
    Config | Wrote to '/home/rob/.config/org.sparkleshare.SparkleShare/projects.xml'
    Controller | Removed folder 'test' from config
    Obviously I have missed something, any suggestions?
    TIA
Moritz
@moritzschaefer
Hello there. Is there a way to run sparkleshare without any host?
I'd just like to use it as a tool to automatically commit/versionize my work from time to time (alternative tool suggestions are welcome as well of course)

Does anyone know why SparkleShare enforces LFS on servers that do not support it????
Every time I see those .... Remote "origin" does not support the LFS locking API. Consider disabling it with: .....
SparkleShare also seems to generate a https url out of thin air for a ssh-only repository. So strange.
