@murillodigital
Mar 03 2014 21:04

Stephen Birarda
@birarda
Mar 03 2014 21:04
let's talk about #211
it has
one
mac app
Leonardo Murillo
@murillodigital
Mar 03 2014 21:04

@birarda
Mar 03 2014 21:04
hover that
Philip Rosedale
@PhilipRosedale
Mar 03 2014 21:04
yeah that's nice.
Stephen Birarda
@birarda
Mar 03 2014 21:05
so the difficulty would be pushing ourselves in short term to talk dev here
and be available to external devs here
add a link to repo README
Philip Rosedale
@PhilipRosedale
Mar 03 2014 21:05
right
yeah how do we mesh this with internal hipchat?
we gotta live on 2 channels at once.
Stephen Birarda
@birarda
Mar 03 2014 21:06
but I think long term it benefits us to have dev specific talk somewhere that people can jump in really easily
Philip Rosedale
@PhilipRosedale
Mar 03 2014 21:06
yeah. I'd propose that for now we try to do dev chat here.
and direct worklist developers to here.
so that anyone can come here and get questions answered.
can we ban people from here?
Stephen Birarda
@birarda
Mar 03 2014 21:07
let me check
it's on their roadmap
Philip Rosedale
@PhilipRosedale
Mar 03 2014 21:09
that will become an issue at some point.
we need a penalty box.
Stephen Birarda
@birarda
Mar 03 2014 21:10
yeah - I'm sure they'll have it soon
Stephen Birarda
@birarda
Mar 03 2014 21:17
@leo it seems easy to add jenkins integration here too
via the integration settings
Leonardo Murillo
@murillodigital
Mar 03 2014 21:17
yeah i;d seen that, haven’t really explored
Stephen Birarda
@birarda
Mar 03 2014 21:17

Philip Rosedale
@PhilipRosedale
Mar 03 2014 21:18

Grayson Stebbins
@problem
Mar 03 2014 21:19
howdy
now we’re talking - cool that you can edit your posts for 4 mins.
Philip Rosedale
@PhilipRosedale
Mar 03 2014 21:19
this is where we want to be chatting tho, right? Not the highfidelity one?
Stephen Birarda
@birarda
Mar 03 2014 21:20
well - that’s going to depend on the repo stuff
Philip Rosedale
@PhilipRosedale
Mar 03 2014 21:20
I like the repo history stuff on the right.
Stephen Birarda
@birarda
Mar 03 2014 21:20
which is still a clusterfork in my brain right now
Andrew Meadows
@AndrewMeadows
Mar 03 2014 21:20
oh this is the official channel
Philip Rosedale
@PhilipRosedale
Mar 03 2014 21:20
yeah @birarda let me know when you are ready to talk/present on that repo stuff.
Brad Hefta-Gaub
@ZappoMan
Mar 03 2014 21:21
@AndrewMeadows - I guess this is the new cool place to be.
but is there an iphone app?
Stephen Birarda
@birarda
Mar 03 2014 21:21
not yet
they’re pretty responsive on twitter if you want to bug them for new features
checking what happens if I reference a PR - #2174
cool - I think green is open
red is closed
Brad Hefta-Gaub
@ZappoMan
Mar 03 2014 21:24
ok… that's slightly better… native OSX app instead of web page.
Philip Rosedale
@PhilipRosedale
Mar 03 2014 21:24
@ZappoMan How do I get the center of the screen from JS?
I want to know what x,y is at the center of the screen to put a gun reticle there?
Brad Hefta-Gaub
@ZappoMan
Mar 03 2014 21:25
Controller.getViewportDimensions()
Philip Rosedale
@PhilipRosedale
Mar 03 2014 21:25
oh no... we can't attach images in this chat?
Brad Hefta-Gaub
@ZappoMan
Mar 03 2014 21:25
will give you {x: width, y: height}
Philip Rosedale
@PhilipRosedale
Mar 03 2014 21:25
@ZappoMan thank you.
Brad Hefta-Gaub
@ZappoMan
Mar 03 2014 21:26
it's cool that it shows you who has seen your chat. that's handy.
Grayson Stebbins
@problem
Mar 03 2014 21:26
If you add a URL, it will work, i requested image upload a few weeks ago though @PhilipRosedale, hopefully they add it
Stephen Birarda
@birarda
Mar 03 2014 21:27
@problem slack is pretty interesting
looking to see if public vs private is better than hipchat
I’d love a single client / service, but hipchat’s public support isn’t right
Grayson Stebbins
@problem
Mar 03 2014 21:27
totally
i just tweeted them about true public rooms with banning
Stephen Birarda
@birarda
Mar 03 2014 21:28
they definitely have public
Grayson Stebbins
@problem
Mar 03 2014 21:28
but their integrations for a developer centric workflow seem cool too
Stephen Birarda
@birarda
Mar 03 2014 21:28
I mean - nothing’s going to be gitter for github integration
beat*
but
could get by without it
Grayson Stebbins
@problem
Mar 03 2014 21:29
yeah, looks like they have some nice features for pasting code and stuff
Leonardo Murillo
@murillodigital
Mar 03 2014 21:29
i actually find the amount of github info that gets placed in the channel a bit too much
Grayson Stebbins
@problem
Mar 03 2014 21:29
does gitter have thought?
Leonardo Murillo
@murillodigital
Mar 03 2014 21:29
guess that’s configurable
Stephen Birarda
@birarda
Mar 03 2014 21:29
@murillodigital we can decrease
Philip Rosedale
@PhilipRosedale
Mar 03 2014 21:29
image upload would be really nice. I don't have time/interest in hosting every screenshot I want to upload to illustrate a problem.
Grayson Stebbins
@problem
Mar 03 2014 21:29
Stephen Birarda

class Discourse::AddUserViaAPI
  @queue = :discourse_queue
  def self.perform(user_id)
    user = User.find(user_id)

    post_body = {
      :email => user.email,
      :username => user.username,
      :name => user.username,
      :password => SecureRandom.urlsafe_base64,
      :password_confirmation => Settings.discourse.honeypot_value,
      :challenge => Settings.discourse.honeypot_challenge.reverse
    }

    post_response = RestClient.post("#{Settings.discourse.url}/users.json?api_key=#{Settings.discourse.master_api_key}", post_body)

    response_json = JSON.parse(post_response.to_str)

    if response_json['success'] != true || response_json['active'] != true
      raise "Error creating account via discourse API. #{response_json}"
    end
  end
end
there’s your code formatting
pretty nice
Grayson Stebbins
@problem
Mar 03 2014 21:32

Brad Hefta-Gaub
@ZappoMan
Mar 03 2014 21:33
