actually the expanding names happen for normal displays also at high/low pitch angles. @problem yeah it would be great if you could get that fixed.

@problem we also have the highfidelity/worklist repo's chat room available too, you might want to talk about worklist topics there :)
Philip Rosedale
@PhilipRosedale

but shouldn't we choose between worklist chat and gitter chat and support only one?

@PhilipRosedale what kordero is talking about is that in gitter, you can have a chat for every github repo you have, and we’re migrating worklist’s repo from svn to github, so we also have gitter.im/highfidelity/worklist chat

I move for replacing worklist chat with gitter.im/highfidelity
(so we encompass all projects)

same

we’ll lose some but not all of the integration
but I think that’s better to keep us in one place

sounds good @birarda, do you know whether we are able to link hooks there too?
Stephen Birarda
@birarda
Mar 05 2014 17:45
a highfidelity admin can hook em from the github integrations page for the repo

Hi all. I've been trying to show the chat window for a while but I keep getting
Signal name :
EXC_BAD_ACCESS
Signal meaning :
Could not access memory
I use ui files with setupUi.
I've noticed that you don't for almost all windows.
Is the reason because of that crash?
Stephen Birarda
@birarda
Mar 05 2014 21:11
nope
you could look at the UpdateDialog to see how ui loading works so far
we just recently have begun using the ui files

I see. Thanks.

@problem - letting you know I've started building the chat window. However, I'd like to complete the functionality first and focus on transitions afterwards.

Doing a job for ryan where I need to send a zipped directory on s3 to then be unzipped (used to send avatar meshes).
And I was wondering, is zipping the folder the best option.
If it is, I did some reseach and the best libs out there are probably libzip, a C library based on zlib or QuaZip a Qt/C++ wrapper also based on zlib.
Is it ok to add one of them to the repo ?
Stephen Birarda
@birarda
Mar 05 2014 23:22
don’t add to repo
I’m pulling out external dependencies
we already have zlib - is it not possible to use that
a tarball is fine too if we have a lib that can do it
Clément Brisset
@Atlante45
Mar 05 2014 23:23
zLib only allows to compress 1 file
I could use zlib on a tar though
Gonna look into that

@birarda
Mar 05 2014 23:24
if you need to - pick a lib that will be easy to get for each platform but don’t include it in the repo - it’ll be added to a guide I’m making now as a dependency

@birarda I’ll just do a :
string command = “tar czf …”;
system(command);

and people will have to install Tar for windows
Is that good ?

Stephen Birarda
@birarda
Mar 05 2014 23:40
can we package tar with our windows installer
Clément Brisset
@Atlante45
Mar 05 2014 23:40
probably
Stephen Birarda
@birarda
Mar 05 2014 23:40
because if not we’ll want a lib
make sure
