can anyone point me in the direction of how QGLWidget actually works internally? I.e., any info on if it's doing any clears to the frame buffer when paintGL is called, and so on

@PhilipRosedale I think I have an idea for a workaround regarding the ringing issue mentioned on WL#19514, since after some digging I can't seem to find a Qt-related fix or workaround here
so, the gist of it is to render the scene into a special kind of texture called a frame buffer object, basically a render texture
then to display that texture
if we're not updating the scene, then we skip updating the texture as well and just go to displaying the texture

How do we handle a PR that changes a message format, such that some interfaces / AC's might be incompatible?
That is, how do we coordinate the actual pull and redeploy in a way that doesn't block demos or other dev work?

@RyanDowne, there is code for "finger trails" in the HandData class but it doesn't seem to be used anywhere
I recall overhearing you talk about how the finger trails were one of the few "neat" things about the leapMotion interface
is that something we'll ever want to resurrect for the coolness factor? or should it be purged?
