I need a way to grab BVH files over the net, and it seems that XMLHttpRequest isn't available here; are there any examples of how to grab files over the net in Interface's javascript setup?

Excellent find… that's exactly what I mean by we need to find out what can't be done so we can add it.
It's possible that Qt's script engine doesn't expose XMLHttpRequest by default.

yeah, funnily enough that BVH importer I showed you has everything it needs if you were using a browser environment
time to look around then

my quick googling suggests they don't have this built in… but should be easy to add.

yeah, I noticed; do you have any extra bandwidth to look at handling that? If not, and I can look at it

Basically you need to get a C++ class that implements the XMLHttpRequest api, then you can expose it to JS the way we expose AudioOptions or Sound or other "new"-able JS objects
I think you'll get to it before I have a chance to.

I'll take a look at it, I'll ping you if I have any questions RE: adding things to the script engine
