No @Atlante45, I've never seen that crash before.
We have a surprising number of machine-specific problems. Dev3 laptop only renders the lower left quadrant of the frustum... but only if you don't run the interface from Xcode.

It looks like something with threads, had simular issues on windows

Mar 26 2014 19:04
where are the screenshots stored on a mac machine?
Stephen Birarda
@birarda
Mar 26 2014 19:04
~/Library/Application Support/High Fidelity/
I believe

Mar 26 2014 19:04
@thoys @birarda yep
Thijs Wenker
@thoys
Mar 26 2014 19:07
ah yes, its stored in ~/Library/Application Support/Interface/
not High Fidelity
Is there a reason why it is splitted up in 2 folders?
Stephen Birarda
@birarda
Mar 26 2014 19:10
yeah - I think the screenshot code is doing some rogue to pick it’s path
something we need to fix
Thijs Wenker
@thoys
Mar 26 2014 19:11
I'll check it out, I want to do something useful

Posted my bug from yesterday #2517
Thijs Wenker
@thoys
Mar 26 2014 19:34
@birarda so the path should be ~/Library/Application Support/High Fidelity/ or are all other files in the wrong dir?
Stephen Birarda
@birarda
Mar 26 2014 19:43
well - screenshots should probably be in ~/Documents/High Fidelity on the mac
we will probably want a util function to give us the hidden save dir and public save dir
and it should use the QApplication organization and application name information
basically using qstandardpaths
snapshots should be in DocumentsLocation
so actually we don’t need a util function, Qt will give this to us
but snapshots is using some class to help it find it’s path that we don’t need
so should be DocumentsLocation for things we want user to find
and DataLocation for cache and other stuff
Thijs Wenker
@thoys
Mar 26 2014 19:45
ok, and the logs?
Stephen Birarda
@birarda
Mar 26 2014 19:47
DataLocation is probably fine, there’s the log viewer in Interface where user can see and export to share

Tried the new build on windows
When i try to select microphone I get: [2014-03-26T21:22:17] input audio selection...Microfoon (High Definition Audi
[2014-03-26T21:22:17] The audio input device "Microfoon (High Definition Audi"

Mar 26 2014 20:38
@thoys - does audio work for you from that input device?
Thijs Wenker
@thoys
Mar 26 2014 20:38
not anymore
Brad Hefta-Gaub
@ZappoMan
Mar 26 2014 20:38
we've made a couple tweaks today related to audio resampling
Thijs Wenker
@thoys
Mar 26 2014 20:38
it worked on both audio devices
Brad Hefta-Gaub
@ZappoMan
Mar 26 2014 20:38
do you have the latest code?
Thijs Wenker
@thoys
Mar 26 2014 20:38
yes
30 min old
i tried it with 2 different input devices
Brad Hefta-Gaub
@ZappoMan
Mar 26 2014 20:39
You are using the Tools > Audio menu?
Thijs Wenker
@thoys
Mar 26 2014 20:39
i did
Brad Hefta-Gaub
@ZappoMan
Mar 26 2014 20:39
ok - well
Thijs Wenker
@thoys
Mar 26 2014 20:40
before that i didnt have to
Brad Hefta-Gaub
@ZappoMan
Mar 26 2014 20:40
I am going to look at that later today.. in the middle of something right now.
but does it work when you "start up"?
Thijs Wenker
@thoys
Mar 26 2014 20:40
not really, the oscilator doesnt move
let me retry
Brad Hefta-Gaub
@ZappoMan
Mar 26 2014 20:40
I just merged some code 35 minutes ago, that changes how we startup and which audio device we usse
use
so make sure you really have the latest code…
Thijs Wenker
@thoys
Mar 26 2014 20:41
haha you just changed it after i pulled, 1 min diff
let me try the updated code
Brad Hefta-Gaub
@ZappoMan
Mar 26 2014 20:42
it seems like windows might have some problems with selecting devices by name, I am going to look at that this afternoon.
but the new startup behavior should avoid that issue
Thijs Wenker
@thoys
Mar 26 2014 20:43
isn't it that you want 48000Hz and they only give 24?
Brad Hefta-Gaub
@ZappoMan
Mar 26 2014 20:43
well - those warnings in the log are misleading
if it worked for you before… then we haven't changed that behavior
Thijs Wenker
@thoys
Mar 26 2014 20:44
yeh it worked before
Brad Hefta-Gaub
@ZappoMan
Mar 26 2014 20:44
we are still looking into issues relative to windows audio - couple of changes happening today/soon.
does the latest code work for you on startup?
Thijs Wenker
@thoys
Mar 26 2014 20:45
still compiling, I can tell in a minute
works now, still distorted voice hehe
Brad Hefta-Gaub
@ZappoMan
Mar 26 2014 20:50
ok @thoys - thanks for the update. I suspect your Tools > Audio menu will not work...
I will look at that this afternoon and try to figure out what's up with that.
Thijs Wenker
@thoys
Mar 26 2014 20:51
i took the defaultScript url to get that menu, not sure if thats the latest?
Brad Hefta-Gaub
@ZappoMan
Mar 26 2014 20:52
yep
there's some issue with windows device names in partiular… the menu should work. and it does work on Mac… but something is not working on windows. I will check it out this afternoon.
your log file makes me think there's some kind of a name truncation happening… so I'm sure it will be straightforward.
Thijs Wenker
@thoys
Mar 26 2014 20:54
is the defaultScript supposed to autoload?
Brad Hefta-Gaub
@ZappoMan
Mar 26 2014 20:55
we add it to your scripts list on first run...
if you stop it, then it gets removed
Thijs Wenker
@thoys
Mar 26 2014 20:55
aha makes sense, i thought it was something domain bound
Brad Hefta-Gaub
@ZappoMan
Mar 26 2014 20:55
you can always re-run it… but it won't get automatically added back.
we're still thinking about how we want to handle these sorts of default scripts.
Thijs Wenker
@thoys
Mar 26 2014 20:56
would be nice if a domain gives you a script
Brad Hefta-Gaub
@ZappoMan
Mar 26 2014 20:56
yep - that's one thought we've had…
Thijs Wenker
@thoys
Mar 26 2014 20:56
like on a website
Brad Hefta-Gaub
@ZappoMan
Mar 26 2014 20:56
yep
Thijs Wenker
@thoys
Mar 26 2014 20:57
could be security issues, but you also have insecure websites, they wont make good visitors
Brad Hefta-Gaub
@ZappoMan
Mar 26 2014 20:57
well - we have some plans on how to give the users a better understanding of what a script does
Thijs Wenker
@thoys
Mar 26 2014 20:58
some kind of this script has access to your networking, harddisk and friendlist
Brad Hefta-Gaub
@ZappoMan
Mar 26 2014 20:58
we plan to do something like on iPhone or FB where when you run a script it let's you know what services the script is using, and you can approve or disapprove the script
Thijs Wenker
@thoys
Mar 26 2014 20:59
would be nice if you could set it to allow some things by default as user, so not every place that doesnt use little permissions triggers
*does
Brad Hefta-Gaub
@ZappoMan
Mar 26 2014 21:00
yeah - these are all ideas we need to explore… trust all scripts from domain X, trust any script to use service Y, etc.
Thijs Wenker
@thoys
Mar 26 2014 21:00
domain groups, maybe, trusted groups/certificates
SSL certicates hehe
