FYI @thoys - the latest build should support switching audio devices on windows, although the distortion still exists.

yes @ZappoMan just wanted to tell you that hehe, I tried, and it sets the default devices
Brad Hefta-Gaub
@ZappoMan

it should allow you to switch your mic or output to a different audio device while running.
so - if you start out with speakers you can switch to headphones, etc.

It did, btw yesterday it did too after i putted breakpoints, only sometimes it gave an error
Brad Hefta-Gaub
@ZappoMan
Mar 27 2014 09:51
right - that was part of my fix
also - made it so on startup it correctly shows which device is selected (with a check in the menu)

It was some kind of thread bug?
Brad Hefta-Gaub
@ZappoMan
Mar 27 2014 09:52
those asserts/errors are related to threads
the windows vs of Qt is apparently more picky than the mac and unix versions
Thijs Wenker
@thoys
Mar 27 2014 09:53
Sometimes I get bugs with messages that it tries to acces another thread or something
Brad Hefta-Gaub
@ZappoMan
Mar 27 2014 09:53
yes - and more of those exist… we're still on the hunt for all of them.

@thoys
Mar 27 2014 09:54
did anyone ever build the mac version on 32bit?
Brad Hefta-Gaub
@ZappoMan
Mar 27 2014 09:54
no
Thijs Wenker
@thoys
Mar 27 2014 09:54
I wonder if the sound issue is related to that, since windows is always build in 32bit

hmm does the js engine allow to use ajax requests?
Stephen Birarda
@birarda
Mar 27 2014 15:56
We don't have a hook for that yet
Thijs Wenker
@thoys
Mar 27 2014 15:56
Its not on the QTJavascript by default?
Stephen Birarda
@birarda
Mar 27 2014 15:57
oh - possibly
there are certain JS calls (like setInterval and setTimeout) that were not in the engine by default
Stephen Birarda
@birarda
Mar 27 2014 15:58
because those are web extensions that the browsers implement - I believe
is that specific to qml?
Thijs Wenker
@thoys
Mar 27 2014 15:59
hmm not sure

@ZappoMan

We will be adding XMLHttpRequest to our scripting engine soon (this week)… it's not supported by default in Qt.
it does exist in Qml but not in the QScriptEngine.
@birarda @thoys ^ in response to thoys question...

OK. I'm here if you have remarks.
those servers im getting on windows, on my mac i get way less servers
sometimes i saw the number of servers on windows grow up to 80 while it stays under 10 on my mac
Thijs Wenker
@thoys
Mar 27 2014 18:26
are there supposed to be 22 voxel servers in domain alpha.highfidelity.io ?
Thijs Wenker
@thoys
Mar 27 2014 19:30
haha, i had 188 on my own server, it doesnt seem to clean up connections on windows
Thijs Wenker
@thoys

Shouldn't those client js files turn off when an error occurs?
