HI, having problems building qxmpp with Qt, results in 2 issues "c4309: 'argument' : truncation of constant value", and doesnt produce a libs folder (Windows7) the rest of the source builds ok and I can log into hifi, I just need some help with qxmpp, thanks.

here are some notes I put together for my current windows environment...
I followed the BUILD.md - as written by Stephen, and carefully read all the instructions for all external readmes
it's admittedly tedious and a little tricky… but if you follow the instructions carefully it should work

@Adrianl3d We just fixed what may fix the windows audio problems that many have had.
can you hear/send audio in the windows version?
If not you might try a pull/rebuild.

So you guys know that the latest Mac Download is crashing right?
On two different Macs I am getting crash debug reports - not much in the way of stack trace but maybe this is useful (doubt it) Exception Type: EXC_BAD_ACCESS (SIGSEGV)
Exception Codes: KERN_INVALID_ADDRESS at 0x00007fff5fc01028

@ZappoMan yes, everything in the build.md went as per instructions, and succeeded, the one thing that did not work is building qxmpp from source, I followed their instructions which were very simple, open qxmpp.pro file in Qt creator and build all, I did that and it throws the issue I mentioned. Cant seem to get passed that.
@PhilipRosedale just rebuilt fresh, compiles well, still no audio and now the little speaker icon bottom left is gone. (download source not clone, hoping thats up to date, yet to install subversion)

yes the microphone mute button is now either just under your mirror view or right at the top left of screen, along with a VU meter bar.
When you speak into the mic, do you see that VU meter move?

@Adrianl3d - check out my notes… I didn't use Qt creator… I used qmake and then nmake
I think the Qt creator approach is not as reliable @Adrianl3d

@PhilipRosedale I was able to load in Windows however when I hit enter, there is no chat window that appears only a Connecting to Xmpp... window that appears on the right and never actually populates with a chat window. Regarding the microphone situation, I do get a mic and a vu meter however it does not connect. I am not able to select the microphone either however it is the only one on the system and should connect by default.

You're right @ZappoMan qmake and nmake built without issue, rebuilt hifi with qxmpp in the root_lib_dir but interface wouldnt start, "cant find qxmpp().dll", I added it to PATH and it starts ok and I see voxels, but no chat not even the xmpp box, also no speaker icon, I have audio input and output choices but no sound, I saw audio ping, tried to log in again to get values and feels like the server is offline.

Sorry @PhilipRosedale found the mic icon when I turned off the stats, yes my voice does register on the VU bar, but I hear no sound, also still have no chat box.

Yep, that’s it.
But it’s an import, there is like 600,000 voxels in it. Didn’t make it by hand.
