Apr 16 2014 10:29
If you are not logged in or the one who you want to teleport to is not logged in?
Thijs Wenker
@thoys
Apr 16 2014 10:29
if you're not logged in and you @ to someone who is logged
And is it protocol that you can only login once? Or are there plans to change that?
I prefer to be able to be logged in at multiple locations/devices

Hello. Completely newbie here. Managed to build hifi but got segmentation fault right after starting the interface. I used valgrind and can now see that maybe the problem is in QXmpp-library. Any advice for the next step?

hey @polac
did you build qxmpp with Qt5 or get it from a package repository?
Mika Impola
@polac
Apr 16 2014 17:35
Ah, ok. I got it from the package repository. It is most like build against the qt4 which I think is the default. For this OS. I'll try to build it my self against the Qt5. Thank you!

Is it a design decision to not allow multiple connections to the xmpp server from the same user? If not, an easy fix is to randomize the resource
Stephen Birarda
@birarda
Apr 16 2014 17:55
@huffman you should be able to connect from multiple clients - is that what you mean?

Hey, I am trying to get the custom url thing to work. But I can't find the position where it loads your old, before logout position.
Andrew Meadows
@AndrewMeadows
Apr 16 2014 18:59
@SydoxX, could you rephrase that question? I'm having trouble parsing exactly what it means.
are you saying "I can't find the code that loads the old logout position" ?
Konstantin
@SydoxX
Apr 16 2014 19:00
Exactly ;)

@Atlante45
Apr 16 2014 19:11
@SydoxX did you get an answer to your question ?
If not that code is located in ./interface/src/avatar/MyAvatar.h:504
In the function named saveData().
Basically saves it to the setting file.

Leonardo Murillo
@murillodigital
Apr 16 2014 20:32
nope and IO can’t connect either
something recently merged seems to have broken things

@huffman
Apr 16 2014 21:09
@birarda re: multiple clients, are you meaning multiple interface clients, or different xmpp clients? (ie pidgin)
So far I haven't been able to connect to chat from multiple interface instances - the first will get disconnected
Stephen Birarda
@birarda
Apr 16 2014 21:35
interesting - I’d imagine multiple interface clients would behave the same as using another client (like pidgin)
which I’ve confirmed works but maybe I should test that again
Ryan Huffman
@huffman
Apr 16 2014 21:37
Check the user count, it will go to 0
I believe they are all using a resource of 'qxmpp' which causes collisions.
(or similar, it was last week that I looked at it)
Stephen Birarda
@birarda
Apr 16 2014 21:38
ahh - that would make sense (colliding on qxmpp somehow)
Ryan Huffman
@huffman
Apr 16 2014 21:39
yeah, you can probably set the resource to a uuid (not sure on length limitations)
Thijs Wenker
@thoys
Apr 16 2014 21:40
still cant connect to alpha (Windows)
