@cozza13 I can't find the "Create New Job" button anymore... what was the url for that again?

Ok, I added a suggestion for a new job here https://worklist.net/19873 - can someone please accept it? @cozza13 ?

Is it a big job to create a collision system for mesh? Also mesh seems to turn into a black ball after a day or so

@judasshuffle The job isn't the problem I think. What would concern me is the CPU usage for such a system. Since mesh has an arbitrary shape, it can get arbitrary difficult to detect collisions.

A modern system should have no trouble throwing lots of polys around, But building a collision volume for a mesh is fairly simple. I just think it would be nice to collide with mesh. And in the alpha it might be valuable to get an idea of how the interface copes with a heavy load.

No matter how much faster computers have become, if you use the wrong algorithm it will come to halt. With - say - one million objects in a space you don't want to test every frame if each of the million objects is colliding with any of the other million objects :P

Why doesn't it already work for you? You can turn avatar collision, and push someone around :) , you should've experienced that alot @judasshuffle :P
or you're talking about mesh models here?

well they manage it in secondlife, Re thoys @ avatar collision that doenst seem to be working lately , and yes I'm talking about mesh models

I think it could be part of the voxelization of the mesh
since meshes will be rendered as voxels from a distance in the near future

This has been mentioned but I haven't heard any news on how that is progressing

You could ask @ZappoMan , I thought someone mentioned hes working on it.

There sure are all kinds of things wrong with the avatar collision shape... I'm working on fixing that...
Lots of work, cause most of the time I have to put into learning how the code works :\

it seems to have just a basic fits all solution at the moment

I'm working on avatar collision. Yes avatar-vs-avatar collision is currently disabled.
the avatar has a "bounding collision shape" which is a capsule. Currently only used for avatar-voxel collisions, we used to use it for avatar-vs-avatar collisions.
But we're going to try to more detailed avatar collisions: hand hits shoulder, hand grabs arm, etc. For this we'll need something different.

you'll be able to toss other people away? :P

perhaps. more interactivity certainly: hugging. tugging, punching

Is there a way to change a script that's attached to an assignment client while the assignment client is still running?

wonders if you could assign collision to vertex groups, make it more like weight paint rather than a second hidden shape

I'd like support for spotify sound sources... I suppose that would require everyone to pay for spotify, but well - I don't know another way to relatively cheap be able to stream long sound "samples". They have a lot of interesting nature sounds - ie, a brook, streaming water, of 20 minutes - or ocean waves, .. thunder and lighting... rain... forest sounds etc etc. Having to do with samples of 10 seconds is HORRIBLE :. We'd need to be able to cache the sounds and replay them (legally) then however, because they won't allow one to stream more one track in parallel.

have you looked at sound cloud?
the soundcloud developer API also looks pretty cool
AlericInglewood
@AlericInglewood
Jul 14 2014 19:13
No - sounds like that will do too ;). All I'm saying is that I'd love to have 10 or 20 sounds sources in my virtual place that consists of hifi stereo of 10 or more minutes before it repeats...

the voice quality is good enough to play music , if there was away to have an extra voice channel hooked to in world speakers maybe

@cozza13 If you have time, what you say about https://worklist.net/19873 ?
@AndrewMeadows Thanks for merging #3165 ... it made me scan over the diff again and then I saw another typo sigh. highfidelity/hifi#3168

Since shoutcast has new owners, they have a developers page here: http://shoutcast.com/Developer with the first partner being “Second Life”, it would be cool to have High Fidelity on there too :p lol but it would be nice to have shoutcast support in here in some form if doable but there arent parcels per se
