Excuse the noobness, I only downloaded and compiled for the first time yesterday. I have a bit of info I could add to the compile instructions, as I had a little trouble installing the Windows SDK yesterday - the cause was having a newer version of the vc runtime libraries. The solution here fixed the issue: https://connect.microsoft.com/VisualStudio/feedback/details/743246/after-installed-sql2012-i-cant-install-windows-sdk-7-1 (uninstall newer vcredist, install WinSDK, re-install newer vcredist). I think detailing the solution may prove useful for others - should I just log in and add my info to the build instructions on github, or is there a procedure I should follow?
I've downloaded and compiled again today, as I see there's been updates since last night - shift-A atmos now much better ;-)
Am familiarising myself with the system, but am struggling a bit:
I have my Alpha login and have logged into HF when prompted by Interface. However, when I get the chat window up, it reports 'You must be logged in to chat with others'. Pressing escape does not close the chat window. The Chat option is also greyed out in the main menu (Tools -> Chat...) The File menu's top item reads 'Logout davedub', so there's definitely something awry.
Scripts do not seem to load. I tried gun, dancing_bot and Test. No changes in view, no output to the Scripting Console. I tried my own 'Hello World' script with print('hello world');. When run inside Interface, nothing appears in the Scripting Console.
Any help gratefully recieved!
