@murillodigital is the qxmpp server down?
Thijs Wenker
@thoys
Jul 31 2014 07:19

Thijs Wenker
@thoys
Jul 31 2014 09:01
@ctrlaltdavid using the "CONFIG+=staticlib" to make qxmpp a static lib seemed to fix my qxmpp build on windows, it also removed the 0's from the filenames
Thijs Wenker
@thoys
Jul 31 2014 09:06
So it makes sense qxmpp.dll doesnt come withe installer, if its linked statically. Can anyone verify if the qxmpp service is running right now though?

Ryan Huffman
@huffman
Jul 31 2014 19:25
:D
It would be nice to get support for direct mode and positional tracking
Thijs Wenker
@thoys
Jul 31 2014 19:26
yeh, directmode would be awesome
I think you could even attach multiple hmd's
Ryan Huffman
@huffman
Jul 31 2014 19:27

How much work is it to get directmode in there?
Thijs Wenker
@thoys
Jul 31 2014 20:32
Not really sure, btw, do you know if DK1 support directmode?
Ryan Huffman
@huffman
Jul 31 2014 20:42
I think so, but I haven't tried it
I would need to boot into Windows to test
Thijs Wenker
@thoys
Jul 31 2014 21:09
@huffman , made a PR , feel free to try on your Windows
Leonardo Murillo
@murillodigital
Jul 31 2014 21:25
@thoys will that 0.4 related changes break 0.3.x support for users with DK1?
Thijs Wenker
@thoys
Jul 31 2014 21:36
@murillodigital , I am not sure, I would assume that they have to update their runtime, DK1 should still be supported
Leonardo Murillo
@murillodigital
Jul 31 2014 21:37
getting this:
LINK : fatal error LNK1104: cannot open file 'atlsd.lib
are you building on VS2010? or 13?
Thijs Wenker
@thoys
Jul 31 2014 21:38
Yeh, hmm, I see it, 2010
Well , a 2010 project on 2013
Leonardo Murillo
@murillodigital
Jul 31 2014 21:38
i think it has to do with the Visual Studio version
Im building on 2010
Ryan Huffman
@huffman
Jul 31 2014 21:40
The runtime is only available on Windows
Thijs Wenker
@thoys
Jul 31 2014 21:40
@murillodigital , are you sure you used the right library?
Leonardo Murillo
@murillodigital
Jul 31 2014 21:40
oculus sdk 0.4
Ryan Huffman
@huffman
Jul 31 2014 21:40
So you may have trouble 0.4 on OSX or linux, but I might be wrong
Thijs Wenker
@thoys
Jul 31 2014 21:40
yes, but it comes in 3 versions of VS
Leonardo Murillo
@murillodigital
Jul 31 2014 21:41
it should be picking the right one
the hints in cmake point to VS2010
Thijs Wenker
@thoys
Jul 31 2014 21:41
or wait, is that the projects , hmm
LibOVR\Lib\Win32\VS2010
Leonardo Murillo
@murillodigital
Jul 31 2014 21:44
ok I definitely dont have atlsd.lib in the box
Stephen Birarda
@birarda
Jul 31 2014 21:44
@huffman we’re ifdefing to use 0.3.2 on OS X
do you have atls.lib?
Ryan Huffman
@huffman
Jul 31 2014 21:44
@birarda Ok, cool
Stephen Birarda
@birarda
Jul 31 2014 21:44
vs2013 removes atlsd
only has atls

You are right, atlsd.lib does not exist in VS2013.From VS2013 Breaking Changes in Visual C++ we can find information below:

Atlsd.lib, atlsn.lib, and atlsnd.lib are removed. Atls.lib no longer has character-set dependencies or code that's specific for debug/release. Because it works the same for Unicode/ANSI and debug/release, only one version of the library is required.

Thijs Wenker
@thoys
Jul 31 2014 21:49
hmm you think libovr could depend on atlsd.lib ?
Stephen Birarda
@birarda
Jul 31 2014 21:49
it does
it must
sounds like we need to install build environment from wdk
and then we get atls and atlsd
Thijs Wenker
@thoys
