i just had my first c++ on shop i was wrecklessly uploading a model with 4096 textures
Jason Hawks
@nbq
Jan 30 2015 11:24
yeah, i see that fail with terrains and 4096 textures too
I am thinking you are not alone really on textures that big @Adrianl3d
Adrianl3d
@Adrianl3d
Jan 30 2015 12:05
I dont have any textures that big
Jason Hawks
@nbq
Jan 30 2015 12:14
well no, but you had issues with the terrain/metavoxels, which has a 4096x4096 texture, which fails on your upload @Adrianl3d

Is there a script example somewhere of detecting a collision of an avatar with an entity?
Adrianl3d
@Adrianl3d
Jan 30 2015 12:54
@nbq yes but I also had the same problem with a 1024 tex on metavoxel
Jason Hawks
@nbq
Jan 30 2015 12:55
what is the file size?
for a 1024, I cant see the size being over 1 to 2 MB in size
Adrianl3d
@Adrianl3d
Jan 30 2015 13:00
@morrisford in example scripts there is an entity script called playSoundOnEnter.js which detects when the avatar comes in contact with or passes thru the bounding box of the entity

There seems to be a problem with rendering image overlays: if a script uses two separate image overlays, one of their image sources is used to render both overlays.
Example script: \example\games\clonedOverlaysExample.js ... there should be both santa and tree images, but only tree images are displayed.

Windows builds 1847 and 1849.
Thijs Wenker
@thoys
Jan 30 2015 18:16
gonna check with 1849
David Rowe
@ctrlaltdavid
Jan 30 2015 18:17
You can see the santa image start to be displayed, but as soon as the trees are loaded the santas are replaced with tree images.
Thijs Wenker
@thoys
Jan 30 2015 18:17
I don't think it has to do with the time of the year, but santa time is pretty much over. lets see
David Rowe
@ctrlaltdavid
Jan 30 2015 18:18
It's not the clonedOverlaysExample.js script ... I'm encountering the same problem on a script I'm working on.
Thijs Wenker
@thoys
Jan 30 2015 18:19
btw, do you use the cloning for the texture loading?
you can now just add overlays it should use the texture cache
or wait
not for the billboards (yet)
David Rowe
@ctrlaltdavid
Jan 30 2015 18:19
No, I'm not using cloning. I'm just adding two separate image overlays.
Thijs Wenker
@thoys
Jan 30 2015 18:19
ah oke
2 seperate "billboards "
David Rowe
@ctrlaltdavid
Jan 30 2015 18:20

David Rowe
@ctrlaltdavid
Jan 30 2015 18:23
Not that I know of ... would look at Jenkins but can't seem to log in
Thijs Wenker
@thoys
Jan 30 2015 18:23
but btw, i saw the same in the entities script

@thoys I’ll be adding that information to download/ today
(Pull Request # that triggered each build and/or commit built)
Thijs Wenker
@thoys
Jan 30 2015 18:24
cool ty :)
i was looking for the Z - arrow
It was replaced with one of those rotation arrows
coreection
Y - arrow

jenkins - for security reasons - will now be closed to public access… all required info will be exposed via public means
Thijs Wenker
@thoys
Jan 30 2015 18:25
aw :P
well im happy the required info gets exposed
Leonardo Murillo
@murillodigital
Jan 30 2015 18:25
sure, and keep me posted if you’re missing some info that’s yet to be exposed
so I keep it on my todo list

Jan 30 2015 18:26
@murillodigital We won't be able to see the build console output for PR builds then?
Leonardo Murillo
@murillodigital
Jan 30 2015 18:26
yes it is getting posted
Thijs Wenker
@thoys
Jan 30 2015 18:26
you can, it goes to gist
Leonardo Murillo
@murillodigital
Jan 30 2015 18:26
as a Gist
to every PR now
Thijs Wenker
@thoys
Jan 30 2015 18:26
all different OS outputs
Leonardo Murillo
@murillodigital
Jan 30 2015 18:26
correct
Thijs Wenker
@thoys
Jan 30 2015 18:27
and i believe the triggering build output
except for non c++/cmake changes
Leonardo Murillo
@murillodigital
Jan 30 2015 18:27
so for instance:
highfidelity/hifi#4196
look for hifi-gustavos’ comment
and click on that gist
David Rowe
@ctrlaltdavid
Jan 30 2015 18:27
Ah, OK ... the new @Gustavo message ... good
Leonardo Murillo
@murillodigital
Jan 30 2015 18:27
now theres one think I dont really like
about having all 3 platforms in one single gist
which is finding which platform failed
on a given PR
is a bit of a pain
so I’m adding something to make that easier
Thijs Wenker
@thoys
Jan 30 2015 18:28
maybe you could sublink each os
and tell about each os if it failed
in the gustavo message
Leonardo Murillo
@murillodigital
Jan 30 2015 18:28
yeah I was also thinking about, at the top of the gist, add an errors “file"
with OS: {{ error_list }} only
so you can actually skip all the output if you wanted
Thijs Wenker
@thoys
Jan 30 2015 18:29
also, I'm not sure if this is easy to implement, to show if your PR added any warnings to the existing ones
Leonardo Murillo
@murillodigital
Jan 30 2015 18:29
yeah that’s another one I was thinking as well
its all regex so not complicated to extract the warnings
Thijs Wenker
@thoys
Jan 30 2015 18:30
keep a score per commiter howmany warnings they caused, and award them a prize every month
Leonardo Murillo
@murillodigital
Jan 30 2015 18:30
what gets trickier is comparing to previous commit’s warnings (which we dont really know on that build)
lol
not bad
anyways, work in progress all this
my goal is securing jenkins will result in actually more centralized access to info by devs
centralized/efficient
David Rowe
@ctrlaltdavid
