@huffman Will the "Update BillboardOverlay to use NetworkTexture" commit fix the problem of wrong textures being used on billboards?

There is no 'power' button showing now for the edit entities since yesterday just before the meet up when I upgraded to the latest interface.
Never mind. I just caught up on reading posts in the forum.

Can anyone tell me what the baseline is for OpenGL support?
i.e. what's the highest version of GL I can target

What OS are you looking for @jherico? If Windows its covered as baseline versions here https://github.com/highfidelity/hifi/blob/master/BUILD_WIN.md but if you have anything specific I can try to help you with it, otherwise its a “try and see if it compiles"

Sorry, I'm not being clear. I'm working on a new implementation of the TextRenderer in render-utils that uses signed distance field text rendering for higher quality and hopefully better performance... but one possible implementation path would be to use glMultiDrawArraysIndirect
glMultiDrawArraysIndirect is OpenGL 4.3, and I don't want to stick it in there if it's going to break other people who are stuck on earlier versions of GL (maybe people using Mesa software rendering?)
Actually, I suppose i can just use Qt to query the GL version and have multiple code paths.

Can be an interesting try to see, I am not a graphics guy so that is not something I could answer, I was hoping someone else would be around that could

does rendering use a consistent scale for units?
ideally meters?
